A few years ago I would have said have my own family, own my own house, and be able to have enough in retirement to enjoy my old age with my partner, but now im just trying to not die before my parents.

I mean you can do the 1, 5, 10, and 30 year plan thing and it helps. But how do you maintain if forever? You don't. You maintain it for NOW.

Just because you have to keep pumping yourself up doesn't mean it's not working - I have to mow my lawn every Sunday, but that doesn't mean the mowing didn't work, ya dig?

when you develop a plan, and you see yourself actually getting closer as the month go by is great motivation. Having the ability to track progress is heaps for my motivation.

be specific about what you want. Tt helps trim the fat on things you will need to do vs things that are just a distraction.

The weird part is that I am not depressed at all, I just feel indifferent and genuinely lack purpose. I have a great girl and 2 awesome puppers but there just seems like there is something missing.

I actually envy the folks itt who know what they want and are driven to work for it.

Me to a T...really jealous of most of the miscers in this thread that have a vision and plan to achieve their goals. I haven't thought about long term goals in years until this thread and ashins college degree thread that really got me thinking. Been going thru life with an extreme indifference for the future. We gonna make it tho bro, time to put some ideas in motion and figure this chit out

I wrote down my dream life and it had over 30+ things in it. So I'm just gonna say my biggest goal right now is to be an author and a tennis athlete.

Biggest short term goal is get not-fat, in preparation for the anti-dying medical treatments that will come on the market in next few years.

Medium term is to get "**** you money" i.e. get to the point where working is pretty much optional (frugal lifestyle post-work if I did quit) i'd still work cos I love my job lol

Depends on which climb. It can be anything from $0 to $100k.

Which country? which mountain? how many days? what gear required? guided or unguided? expedition or alpine style?
