That’s actually my problem with the movie, it’s no longer about defeating an unstoppable all powerful evil, they just killed and **** all over the Jedi/Sith lore.
Oh and who the **** is Snoke again? Where did he even come from? Why is trained in the dark side or know about the Sith? Oh wait no explanation and they killed him.

also, i've heard a few last jedi haters irl saying that the CGI yoda in movie 8 looked atrocious and it's embarrassing that CGI looksthat bad these days.....WHEN YODA WASN'T CGI IN 8.

I'm sorry, but this film ruined Star Wars. Here are some simple reasons why.
Obi-Wan as some kind of a hologram ghost was so cheap. His death in the last movie was extraordinarily powerful, and I thought his voice telling Luke to "use the force" was mysterious enough. But now he's basically just alive, body and all. He just glows now. Really cheap.
Mark my words, if there's a name to be put to what killed Star Wars, it will be "Yoda." WTF was that character? They put an actual muppet into a Star Wars film. I'm going to throw up. And he's supposedly this amazing master of the force, but he's also simultaneously the comic relief character? The people who made this movie hate Star Wars, and just wanted it to go to hell. That's the only theory that makes sense.
Everything about "Cloud City" (jesus christ, that name) was painfully stupid. It didn't even look like an alien planet, it looked like some sort of shiny condominium complex on Earth. Darth Vader at the end of a fancy dinner table? That scene was just so ridiculous and campy.
I'll admit, for a split second I was impressed with the big twist, that Darth Vader is Luke's father. But the more I thought about it, the less it makes sense. They clearly came up with this on the fly, because there were no hints to this in the first movie. Sure, we got a twist. But at what cost? I'll tell you what cost - there is now no way for this to be a cohesive trilogy. The makers of this film spat in the face of everything the first film tried to set up.
I'll say it - Luke Skywalker is now a Mary Sue. He goes and gets a lesson in how to navigate an obstacle course and lift some rocks from the muppet, and now suddenly he can hold his own with Darth Vader? Admittedly Vader won the duel, and thank goodness for that, but the fact that Luke was able to last as long as he did is an insult to the Darth Vader character.
Suddenly Luke can telepathically communicate with Leia?! What?! Where did that random thing come from? This movie made a mockery of the force, turning it from something that "binds the universe together" to something that all sorts of magic powers convenient to the plot can come from at any given point. Mark my words, these "force powers" will only get more ridiculous in future movies (if they even make future movies after this disaster.)
One more point on this embarrassing "Yoda" character - if he's this amazing master of the force, why don't we see him fighting the Empire? Why doesn't he go and fight Darth Vader? Yoda just stays on the same planet all the time doing absolutely nothing? What a waste.

He was very much alive. He died in the same manner as yoda....dissipating into the air and leaving his robes behind. I'm sure they'll bring him back in some way as a Force Ghost.

1) it's coming off to me like there's some weird scale of difficulty to do force abilities. Inconsistencies. Luke can almost raise an xwing out of water with 0 training and rey can command somebody to free her with 0 training. Just because obi-wan did it with ease on tatoine doesn't mean that it's some super hard force trick. If that force trick IS really difficult, it wasn't established in OG movies. Likewise, Rey power can be established outside of these movies as well later on

2) rey clearly isn't THAT powerful because snoke bopped her in the head with the lightsaber.
3) rey has previous fighting experience with her staff throughout her life so she isn't a novice fighter like luke was. There's definitely some justification to her fighting abilities
Also, multiculturalism is fine in the movie considering it's aliens and stuff but the casting for the main new actress was atrocious. She was a genuinely bad actress and they should have cast somebody else.

After the way everything went down though, I kind of agree with the writer.
Snoke as we know it now was written to serve as a catalyst to Kylo Ren becoming the supreme leader. It was us fans who after The Force Awakens strongly assumed he was someone else and we all took to the internet with all that speculation and drew up all our own theories completely writing off that he may be a new creation and insisted he had to have some epic origins yet to be unveiled. Those who were letdown are SOL, but these fans did it to themselves as Snoke was not intended (at least in Episode 8) to be revealed as someone else. The script for this movie was finished before all fans screamed "OMG Snoke is Darth this, Snoke is Mace, Snoke is Luke, Snoke is.....JAR JAR BINKS!!!!!"
