Not if it's a smaller % for them, no they don't "benefit" the most, in simplistic terms the amount of benefit is tied to how big the % is that you are now getting to keep that you were having to give to the government before this bill. Someone suddenly getting to keep say net 10% more is way more impactful on their life then someone getting to keep 2%, regardless of the raw dollar value but the benefit is greater the closer you are to breaking even fiscally per year.

If you're in the top .01% making 100 million per year, 2 million extra isn't that big a deal or "beneficial", not gunna change your life at all.

If you're making 45-70k like most people and the standard deduction is doubled from 6 to 12k for individuals as well as your rate on the remainder dropping by 3-4% and the unaffordable healthcare act mandate being removed and the child tax credit doubling.....

What is it with the left and simple numbers god damn. Are you being purposely ignorant to avoid having to admit the middle/lower class are helped way more then the rich in this bill or can you just not wrap your brains around this stuff...

It's certainly not their job to pick up the tab and subsidize your state taxes, thereby providing incentive for California politicians to jack up state taxes to the moon knowing residents of the state can just write them off.

Then they should pay for those services with their state taxes. Stop expecting the rest of the country to foot the bill.

I can play this game too.

As a percentage of the population, who is this bill helping more? The "1%" or the 45-99% who make up the middle class? Wow, it's almost like it's a "middle class tax cut" because it's a cut for so many more people than just the 1%.

They can keep paying higher state taxes. No reason they should pay a less effective federal tax rate because their state is taking more of their money.

The tax bill isn't that bad but stuff like this is ridiculous.

BREAKING: Sen. @JohnCornyn tells @ThisWeekABC that last-minute provision enriching @SenBobCorker & other GOP lawmakers was added to the tax bill as part of an effort to “cobble together the votes we needed to get this bill passed”https://t.co/5spNBNb8Vl

What’s ridiculous? That 95% of US businesses will benefit from these tax cuts, or that your ridiculous source hysterically & falsely rants about it only benefiting Republican politicians?

“Most business in the US are organized as one of these entities. According to the Brookings Institution, about 95 percent of businesses fall into that category.”

Just about everyone should start seeing bigger checks in February.

On a negative note personally, living in NJ and paying 18k in property tax, I'll now only be able to deduct 10k max. State and local taxes no longer deducted.

Can't complain though since so many people who make less are getting relief.

Great because 95% of the businesses means 95% of the population will benefit from this.

Right?

Wow. You ignore the content of what I said, and the post I replied to, just to change your story and make up a ridiculously ignorant lie that implies every taxpayer owns a business.

As usual, I have to ask why people pushing your agenda need to hide behind so many lies and false claims? Why do you constantly change your story, instead of simply admitting you were wrong?

Interesting, you've done this a few times over the past week where you completely change the premise of your argument as soon as your caught and pretend the other person is at fault.

Corker went from a hard "no" to a "yes" for no real reason and even admitted he hadn't even read the bill yet. It was senator corryns admission about corraling votes that led reporters to find out what had happened.

You used the 95% number to try to suggest that a lot of voters outside the senators will benefit from this provision. Although that may be true, I suspect that the wealthiest among us are the ones who own the majority of such organizations.

No... CBS cited the 95% number. Neither of us said anything about “voters”.

Meanwhile, you change your story to hide behind what you “suspect”.

Of course people "more well off" own businesses. But a business getting a tax cut can now hire and give raises to veteran employees. For my company, we plan to hire 20+ entry level workers in manufacturing as well as three 40k-60k sales and marketing office employees. It's a snowball effect that helps ALL people.

And we're just a "smaller" family owned business with 125 employees. I imagine the larger corporations have greater expansion plans.

Don't believe the liberal talking point that the extra money businesses receive from tax cuts just gets shoved into Dr. Evil's pockets.

Yes, it favors those filing standard deductions(plus the added child deductions for familys). But also the tax rates have changed, I have no idea where I will end up and will just wait and see when I file.
