I'm no boat expert, but buying a 49 year old sailboat wouldn't seem like a good start to this endeavor.

Don't want to waste their life working yet the cucks who donated are probably getting up and going to work tomorrow. Mind blown people actually fund these ventures.

Actually an older boat is not a terrible idea. They were generally solid as hell, it's not likely to be a fast boat, but it's probably a reasonable choice for cost to durability purposes.

Never underestimate the sheer power of stupidity and the ability of crowd funding to support more of it.

These idiots will be right back in the thick of making a monumental mistake again within a year--and quite probably dead at sea. They have no concept of planning or responsibility. I'm fine with people chasing dreams . . . and they should . . . but these clowns had no idea what they were doing on multiple levels and had no real plan or ability to support themselves from the get go. That's just reckless and the fact that they are playing victims is nuts.

EDIT: And they're now >$11k. Jeezus.

this a lil bit too cheap even for some fixer uppering. also you can't crew a 28 foot boat with just one person and definitely not with two noobs, but maybe they were gonna cruise under power forever. also they are beyond retarded.

it takes almost no effort to study on an appropriate crusier size and how not to ram it into shiit underwater.

I don't think you understand how many dues they paid by being Uber drivers for a couple of years.
If people want to donate to them the people can do it it's not up to you or anyone else.
I just want to share the knowledge I have obtained throughout my life and hopefully change someone's life.

I can't believe these potatoes had ZERO experience or training and still thought everything would turn out ok.

There are things you can run into at sea that will sink you in a heartbeat even if you have 50+ years of experience. Rogue waves, white squalls, etc. You have to respect the ocean. It plays for keeps. Sometimes it throws something at you that there is no correct response for.
