Actually surprised at how good the show was.
My only request for season 2 is that Johnny beats the chit out of that little Larusso kid

OMFG. Apart from being a career woman, Larusso's wife is the real deal.
10/10.

It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.

well, guess the verdict is in. I'll have to give it a go. Did anyone ever get him a body bag though?

Binged watched it yesterday. It had a lot of good things about it, but some dumb things. The dumbest thing to me was adding that part about Johnny's past:
Spoiler!
Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Johnny and Daniel were great every time they were on screen. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka still got it, they absolutely killed it, and were believable all the way through. The new characters weren't bad either, most of them were kinda "eh", they weren't like amazing characters, and you can see any other actor playing the roles, or you wouldn't mind if they scrapped the characters altogether, but they weren't bad characters that made me not want to watch. It was just what you got with the story, and it was kind of whatever.
I loved a lot of the nostalgia and flashbacks they showed, and you can tell the direction style tried to mimic the original Karate Kid films more, instead of the modern close-up slideshow style garbage we got in most movies now. The story wasn't that bad either, a bit predictable sometimes, but still executed well for what it was worth and mostly satisfying. I'm definitely looking forward to Season 2. I wouldn't compare it to shows like Breaking Bad just yet, the cinematography is clearly a tier below, and the series isn't even over yet to decide it had a story worth comparable.
Spoiler!
Now Johnny was a social outcast as well? Come on, just keep his character as it was. A rich dbag who always got his way until Daniel humbled him and made him grow up to be a piece of chit. Don't add the, "I was bullied too!" angle. That totally killed some of the immersion for me, because now that didn't feel like the douchebag Johnny that we all knew. Made the "alpha" in him feel more like an act, and not his genuine character.

Binged watched the entire season in 2 days and I loved it all.
I'm glad they got deeper into Johnny's childhood so we could see how it was for him and get a better understanding of his character. I was surprised they let Johnny get that mean with the new kids that came to his dogo after seeing Diaz kick ass in the cafeteria. I'm glad they didn't let any SJW or political correctness get in the way and kept it real.
I can't wait for Season 2 though.
It was hilarious to see both Daniel and Johnny jamming and singing in the Dodge Challenger scene.

It was a good show, binge watched it all since its my day off and its easy to binge considering the episodes are ~30 mins. I like the Cobra Kai mindset, but they could use some lessons in balance from Daniel-San. Same could be said for Daniel... Miyagi Do Karate could be more aggressive and assertive, but Cobra Kai could soften up a little as well.
Strong mind, strong body.

Used the check from his POS step dad that he initially tore up earlier.
