No one that I know is an MBA. Sorry if my simple and common sense references to financial statements offends you.

It’s not the fukking rocket science you are making it out to be.
It's just not relevant to the discussion AT ALL (lol)

Success is also subjective. Nobody "finds" success. Success is created.

I've created my own success.

It really is though. How else do you measure success without financial statements.

My brother who is part owner of the company literally has ziplock bags full of uncashed checks scattered all over the place.

He relies on his book keeper to keep things straight.

No one is going to stop me from working with my family if that’s what I want to do. Family is number one. Don’t really give about your conceited opinions.

My father worked his ass off for the bank for 30 years making a 60k/year salary. Would most people call that success based off those numbers? NO

STILL our family always lived a comfortable life, 2mil house in a prime area of Hawaii, family vacations, car after highschool, etc. Happily retired and yes, most would consider him successful.

I used to think like you, before I realized and practiced how to create success.

Financial statements/checks MEAN NOTHING WITHOUT THE BIG PICTURE.

My uncles General Contracted company (which i worked for 5 years) would receive 100k checks regularly. I'm not going to tell you how much profit comes out of that, but only an ignorant idiot thinks most of that is kept as profit.

What I am trying to say is: YOU DON'T HAVE THE BIG PICTURE, YOU HAVE SMALL PIECES OF AN INCOMPLETE PICTURE. just lol if you try to argue that, because of what your brother tells you

Let me make this real simple .

Go look at the Schedule C on a 1040 tax return. Which LITERALLY says “Profit or Loss From Business” so now you know I’m not using abstract terms.

Part 1. Income.
Is where that $100,000 you are talking about check goes.

Part 2. Expenses .
Are where all the costs that eat away at that $100,000 go

Line 31. Net profit or loss
Is your take home profit. And is where the $12,000 to $24,000 per month goes

After adding back Depletion and Depreciation. And business use of home.

I don’t know what other picture you are asking for.

I look at these things all the time dude. It’s no big deal.

Go under the “investor relations” section on a company website and you will find this information. It’s not hidden away.

Just to chime in I know a trucking business that makes bank. Insane money.

The owners don't even drive. They own the trucks though...just pay their drivers.

Wouldn't call trucking a trade but still there's money to be made wherever you look and people don't realize it.

You can make 100k+ working literally anywhere after a number of years. Even Mcdonalds 100%srs. A guy who graduated a few years ahead of me in high school started workng at Mcdonalds in high school. Then everyone went to college and he stayed and I'm sure he got made fun of.

Now he's like a regional/district manager or something with company car and probably making 80-100k+.

You can make money literally anywhere - it's just people don't want to because of stereotypes. I bet most people on the misc would turn down stocking shelves at walmart for 100k/year(hypothetical) for their 50k office job due to stereotypes and societal pressure to get a 'real job' . No one wants to be seen doing hard work anymore.

lmao. I have over 4 family members with successful business of their own. They are all successful small business, including a general contracting business. Some don't have websites, and NONE of that information is available to the public and never will be.

Nobody except for close relations will know how much we really make. (not even our CPA's, nom sayin)

In real life any competitive business niche (tradies included) are:

• High failure rates

• Extreme competition/low margins

• 90+ hours per-week

These tradie cope threads are cringeworthy. You can tell 99% of the copers know 1 or 2 people who stepped in crap and cling to their stories for dear life. The harsh truth is, the average trade in making average to below average wages and there is nothing romantic about what they do... 100% cope.
this

but my story: met an hvac school director who did that as a side job, cleared 250-300k in sales first year in a city of <300,000 in NC, now how much of that was profit and how many hours he put in and all the extras that he didnt state

And this is why you’re a tradie.

you are dumb as fuk and thats why you're a worthless salesperson soon to be tradie slave. you're telling people that your friends company is good because of their net profit

who was cash flow
who was revenue growth
who was profit margins
who was ebitda

you've told people for three pages how good the company is based on a financial statement from one year. don't start claiming you've already looked at all this now that you've been called out.

Good luck landing an internship.
