So they think in avengers 4 LARSON (who is old now) brings the black chick (who is an adult now) to the fight as the new captain marvel.

Sure someone who knows their chit can back me up with names and stuff.
I dont think this is true.

The other pilot, in the comics, becomes Photon. Captain Marvel is a major player in the comics over the last handful of years, she is a legit powerhouse in terms of powers. Super strength, flight, energy blasts.

The recent characters, Dr Strange, Black Panther and Larson's Captain Marvel will be the leaders of the MCU after Avengers 4

uhh no? the fuk are you talking about? The new Secret Wars? the current Venom run? World War Hulk? The first 2 Ultimates? Ultimate six? i really want to like DC but everytime I pick it up its horribly written garbage - crazy amount of exposition and dumbass dialogue. I wanted to like the New 52, I really did - but it fuking sucked. And yes i'm aware of **** like all star superman/batman, alex ross' kingdom come etc. but these are all books from 2 decades ago and while they're still one of the finest runs ever the current state of DC comic books is a fuking joke.

Ok. You prob know more than me. I was just reading an article that said photon turns into captain marvel or something and they suggested shes actually the one that plays the role in avengers 4. I havent read any comics or anything.

She has super powers bro. She can be a fat slob who crushes pizza and pop all day, she can still shoot lasers out of her hands or whatever it is she does.

A lot of ppl here (not you) just wanna hate on this movie cause its a girl, and more of you wanna hate on the movie cause its not a hot girl.

I do, however; have a problem with her tweets.

They really dropped the ball on their actress of choice here.

Tossing her in amongst actors such as SLJ, Evans, Hemsworth, RDJ, Cumberbatch, Middleston... even Paul Rudd, doesn't seem right.

I think the chick who plays the wasp in Ant Man would have been better for the role.

Photon is her own hero, albeit a minor character. Captain Marvel will be one of the faces of the MCU going forward. They've talked about the second wave becoming the focal point after the originals contracts are up, in which they are after Avengers 4. The aging thing will most likely be explained by her kree powers/dna (her dna fuses with Mar-Vell, who in the movie is Jude Law) and she'll age slower. Agents Of Shield has established that the Kree dna has healing properties, which brought Coulson back to life

People complaining about her attitude from one tweet is silly. I can see the point she is trying to make, albeit it poorly.

lmao i'm not hating on the movie because she's not hot, I said i'm gonna see it regardless. I just feel like they could have picked an actress who would look more the part. I don't get any badass, kick-ass warrior vibes from her whatsoever. If I'm gonna hire someone to teach me how to rock climb, I'm probably gonna pick someone who looks like they can actually do the part, or at least be biased towards one. Again this is all just my own opinion. I'm sure some people think she looks plenty badass

As far as the tweets, they're just laughable. LMAO at her using the position of power quote when anyone with half a brain realizes she could ruin that guy's life for a simple proposition, and wtf could he do to her, make her miss a flight? god forbid.

Playing some sloot in a Kong installment isn't quite parallel to playing a super power wielding super hero in a multi billion dollar franchise.

This. Charlize Theron has the acting ability, look and overall athleticism to pull it off well.

Something like her character in prometheus.

Meh she's aged well. Your 2nd point is, I think, much more accurate.

In a time where we're surrounded by seemingly nothing but old movie reboots, feminist takes, or just plain dumb movies, you're really going to complain about original (at least for movie adaptation) stories that have been developing for over a decade? These are easily some of the (if not just THE) most impressive and cohesive series of movies ever accomplished. They appeal to a wide audience and and even have a touch of nostalgia for people that liked super heroes as kids. If you don't like the super hero genre (really Marvel genre at this point) that's fine. But you're dumb if you can't tell why people like them.
How the fuk is criticising superhero movies edgy? I swear 'edgy' has become the go to buzz word for dumb fuks on the internet.. My whole issue is that there's a million of these movies being made instead of movies with substance.. Compare the number of superhero movies coming out in the late 90's - mid 2000 (golden era of movies imo) to now.. Hollywood prefers going with the safe and easy way of pump and dumping these superhero movies and apparently anything with good stories goes on TV/netflix now.. Which sucks for people that prefer movies/don't have time to watch series.

Yup, it's weird to call out an actor for being too "average" looking, but that's Brie Larson in a nutshell.

Ironically enough, she would be right at home playing some middle-class wife in a Judd Apatow movie, but not Captain fukin Marvel.

True, but she's aged well and movies have no problem hiding that ish.

However, i could see it being a valid concern depending how long they are going to use captain marvel, and how much she would cost.

Just curious to see how it'll turn out.

there is a difference in cost for doing it for a supporting character whos in maybe 30% of the scenes vs the lead character whos in 90% of the scenes and every movie going forward.

a good example is The Walking Dead, they didnt cut off Ricks hand because of the cost of cg for the lead character over the course of the series

One could argue tv vs film, but both have budgets and cg is expensive

Some of you sound like those who got triggered by Black Panther. Just because the lead is Black or Female doesn't mean the film will be some SJW mess. The biggest SJW actors in marvel are Evans(Captain America), Ruffalo(Hulk), and it didn't ruin any of the films they were in.

Hollywood prefers going with the safe and easy way of pump and dumping these superhero movies and apparently anything with good stories goes on TV/netflix now.. Which sucks for people that prefer movies/don't have time to watch series.
Dude STFU. There's literally nothing else to watch at the movies the past 10 years outside of superhero flicks. Deep dramas/thrillers are on cable or streaming channels as 10-episodes series. It's far better to make a True Detective on HBO, where you can fully tell a story, than some 90 minute flick. Comic flicks however work well in the 90 minutes format, and make going to a theater worth it.

One could argue tv vs film, but both have budgets and cg is expensive
you're acting like Marvel is some broke under-achieving company that has to cut costs and corners to make their movies.

As if like 80% of the entire movie isn't CGI
