Yeah nursing seems stressful af. One reason I'm choosing a PA specialization that doesn't revolve around a hospital instead.

Female nurses break down all the time, usually in a demanding unit when the pressure is on mentally. Seen quite a few where charge has to tell them to leave the floor for 15 mins to collect themselves. Just had a male nurse I heard crying in restroom cause he can’t hang.

I’m emotional but usually won’t show it but it gets to you sometimes. Had a guy’s wife dying of cancer and he came out of the room calm, asked to speak with me and broke down sobbing begging me to tell him how much longer she had to live... 2 weeks ago we had an older patient on floor not DNR but should have been for a month, pt family always wanted me to be his nurse. One night he had massive brain hemorrhage, called a code, cpr while the family I got to know over the month cause they were there every waking minute, distraught. Transferred to ICu as rest of family showed up. I was literally holding both his daughters up as they were inconsolable, I shed some tears as well.

Before that had a DNR pt that family would never come and visit. In her last dying hours, I was in her room just talking to her, holding her hand as the RR nurse came in who i know. She asked what I was doing, I Bert stared her and said no one wants to die alone... I could feel her soul being crushed as she said she was so sorry and left the room about to cry. They don’t prepare you for these moments in school.

Also my first year I was at 55k, now almost 3yrs in I’m past 100k.

Fellow nurse reps off spread.
Yeah the first year was tough for me, and i have no shame to admit that. Because it was new to me. I think the first 3 months, i witnessed about 20 deaths. And it sucks because usually you have to escort a doctor when you have to break the bad news to a family. People don't know how hard that is. The job itself isn't hard, i mean physically. But mentally it's tough and the hours break you down.

ICU is the toughest area to work in. Even to this day it gives me the chills.

It's not stressful at all really, just tiring like i said because of the hours.

Taking the nursing program was stressful. LOTS of studying.

You must not have read the thread.

That's a NATIONAL average, depending on location and which you're working at. I was hired just shy of 80k my first day. 3 years later well past 100k.

Don't forget nursing is a CAREER. Not just a job. I can move anywhere and get hired. That's not always the case for most jobs people have here.

If you like to travel, there are positions all over on contract basis. Nurses are a shortage in the industry I hear. The guy making 160k must pull a ton of overtime.

Since when does being in the medical field a bad thing?? Nursing is a career, that will follow you where ever you go.

Brb being in one of the most demanded positions you can think of with very good pay and an incredible room for salary growth.

I love porsche. But the boxster and the cayman i don't consider real porsches. Because they're weak. They're budgeted low so people who love porsche can have a chance to own one.

Even the cayman GTS is priced at 80k, and it's a 4cyl. With 365hp.

80k?? LMAO

personally, i'm not gonna be risking my life doing canyon runs with a porsche, so my next car will just be a gt mustang with a faster 0-60 at almost 1/3rd of the price

the best deal at his price range for performance is a 1le. barely slower than an LFA around a track. faster than all ferraris ever lol. ridiculous

I been searching for the past 10 months or so on what car i should get next for my daily.

A mustang GT, oddly enough, was one of the cars on the list. And i would get it with the new 10 speed.

The engine is stout, the 10 speed is incredible, and i kinda like the way the new new mustangs look. I think new body style started in 2016? That body style is nice. But i won't be crashing into any crowd, because i'm naturally a corvette guy. And we don't crash into crowds lol

Here in Ontario, an RN can easily make 30-35/hr after a few years. NP (Nurse practitioners) can make 100-150k/year, depending the work environment. Both also have decent pension plans.

Hospitals generally pay more, but you most likely work 12 hour shifts and the stress levels are really high. You deal with some next level human emotions that not everyone can do with. Dealing with family members of a dying patient can be emotionally draining.

Either way nurses deserve a lot of respect. They are the one that will cheer you up when you're in some of the worst situations.

What are you talking about? An RN can top 80-90k a year.

Also what's ahigh level nurse?

If i made $70k at 20 years old I would EASILY be retired by now (100% srs)
I don't know where you're from but to be an RN, you need 4 years of university here. I can't see anyone working before hitting 22 years old... Maybe a RPN?
