Honestly, it has nothing to do with looks, it's about your self-confidence and self-esteem. Many unattractive women can be seen with more attractive men and vice versa. If your self-esteem is in check, you'll go out and make things happen. If your self-esteem is decimated, you'll post on boards like the ones seen in this thread, regardless of the way you look physically.

If youbelieveyou are unattractive and that you will never find a mate, then that will become entrenched and turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy wherein every time something happens to provide evidence to that belief you have created, it starts becoming more and more rooted. It's like you have a young tree and the fertilizer/sun/water it needs to grow is all of these little instances you've gathered to confirm your made up belief, until that baby tree has turned into a mature, entrenched oak and uprooting it becomes incredibly difficult.
