Glad we all agree this dude should die. I have no tolerance for this kind of ****.

I once got rear-ended by a drunk driver. Exact same way but I was stopped at a red light (he wasn't going anywhere near as fast as that either). Totaled my truck.

Found out later that dude had 11 prior dui's. That's not a lie or exaggeration. He legally wasn't allowed to drive but he somehow got ahold of his friends car and did it again.

These people should be executed or locked away permanently for the safety of society. RIP to that lady he killed.

I have a childhood friend whose brother had 5 DUI’s by the time he was 26 and his worst punishment was a 10 ban from driving which he still did anyway. Something like that needs to be severe please punishment like a long prison term.

Remember sir the point of the death penalty is not for the dead but the living. "There are things you can do that are so horrible that we as a society declare you don't get to be alive anymore".

That's why they did it in the public square, not some sanitized room deep in a prison. It was completely barbaric. That's kind of the whole point.

I read a statistic somewhere that said a person drives on average 70 times under the influence prior to getting a DUI. I have no idea if the statistic is true or not but I tend to believe it.

there are people who’ve killed others while driving drunk and get little to no jail time for it, the punishments are ridiculously weak and do nothing to keep the public safe

I’m aware. My cousin was drunk driving with his soon-to-be bro-in-law and they were heading back to the family’s house for thanksgiving dinner after running for some cigs I guess. Well, cousin was wearing his seat belt and other dude wasn’t, caught gravel, flipped the car and the bro-in-law was launched into his parents front yard where he died. My cousin was charged and convicted with vehicular homicide and got 10 years. This was against the family’s wishes...they didn’t want him going to prison but the state said fuk off.

there was a judge in Perrysburg Ohio who had a daughter killed by a drunk driver, if you went in front of this guy with a DUI charge you were getting the maximum charge!
He gave a guy a year in prison for getting 2 DUI's and they were 5 years apart...he said to the guy.."All you prove to me, is that you have driven drunk for 5 years and never got caught...
It got so bad, the judge was not allowed to overhear DUI cases anymore
I think they should have kept him over hearing cases

had friend get hit head on by a guy who crossed over, going 70mph and high on some synthetic weed. he was killed instantly as heart detached from artery or something. His 7 year old was in the car with him.

4 years ago I got rear ended by another guy who was high. He hit me doing 50 mph. knocked me across oncoming traffic and almost got hit head on but fortunately the guy coming the other way stopped traffic. we got out and he told me he saw it coming a mile away because the dude was not slowing down. I got out of it with a bad hip that needed 4 months of PT and consider myself very lucky.

conservation of momentum. Same principle at work in contacts sports, when you're the one moving the fastest and executing a hit you often barely feel it while the other guy gets rekt

also the front of cars are more reinforced for impacts then the back

I used to drive drunk but I knew what I was doing, I even had my friends in the car with me and never had any accidents or even close

If you drive absolutely wasted then you are an idiot. But I always made sure I had the composure to.complete a safe journey. And I used to drive on the least busy roads and this is like 3-5am when the roads are dead.
