You have no obligation to "fix her." Your only obligation should be to live an enjoyable life and find a woman that you would love to have children with and raise them together with.
The longer you waste sticking it out in this relationship the less time you have to find the above. After years of research about this personality disorder, the only way to effectively deal with a borderline is to walk away and go no contact.

With my borderline ex, I was terrified to break up with her because of her manipulation and guilt. Also because of vague threats she made earlier of what she would do if I ever broke up with her. I made the decision I would and started distancing myself. Started seeing her less, talking to her less, etc. She was desperately pushing to move in with me and get married. One day she called me and said we should break up. I said "okay" and hung up, blocked her, and went no contact. She tried to get in contact with me and even showed up at my door knocking for an hour. After that, never heard from her again.
I took a break for a while because I needed a breather from her constant clinginess and emotional exhaustion. Went on Bumble and found my current GF who is absolutely amazing and has no personality disorders or issues. Happily been together 2 years now and live together.

Dated a girl for 2 years with BPD... she is a ticking time bomb, cut her out of my life 7 years go... she still friend requests all my social, and somehow gets my new phone numbers and will try to re-initiate contact.

So just checking, exactly 100% of Miscers who have experience of this issue (dealing with BPD girls) say that you should GTFO?
Damn, you never get this level of agreement here.

She'd get mad and think I was abandoning her if I didn't text back soon enough or even practically on a scheduled basis. She got ridiculously jealous if I so much as said hi to a female coworker we happened across in public or made a public group type comment on ******** towards. Had a bunch of "guy friend" orbiters because "girls were too much drama", and one unhinged fat annoying cow of a girlfriend pal who she tolerated constantly pulling crap trying break us up. For the first 6 months or so, she wanted to bang constantly, but started using sex as a weapon once I was actually more emtionally vested in tolerating her bs in the relationship.
She would constantly talk about herself. Was always bitching about random aches and pains, "headaches", and supposedly messing her back up by falling off a boat on land or some crap. Would try hitting me up for cash for stupid bs and act like I was a selfish prick if I didn't or even flat out couldn't give it to her. Had a terrible relationship with her mother and severe mommy issues despite a seemingly healthy relationship with an apparently decent father. She was also nearly completely devoid of having any sort of a deep thinking process beyond whatever she could see some sort of rewards/payoff from. Would get pissed off and cry about how I "should just let her win!!!" if I won in a video game about her or stupid things like that.
She initially broke up with me so she could actively bang some other moron guy(s) after stringing me along for the last month or so of it. I took it really hard at first, but quickly became extremely content with having her constant drama bs out of my life and embraced it. She tried begging for me back about a couple weeks after the breakup by calling me like 30 times and texting me about 10 times (this was back in flip phone days and she sucked at texting) trying to get me to answer. I handed the phone to a buddy of mine on like the 25th call of not answering her myself (I never did) and he asked her what the hell she wanted. She went full bat mode told him it was about "my future with her", to which he said she wasn't in my future and hung up on her. Then she frantically tried calling another 5x or so. Tried getting a hold of me a few times randomly for about another year before she finally got bored of trying when the most I'd ever do is troll her for a bit and she finally left me alone for good.
Cliffs:
- Run for the hills.
- Don't look back.
- You're gonna laugh at the idea of ever being with a self-absorbed loon like that ever again once you get over this one.

Luckily she had a decent job so didn't hit me up for cash.
When I started telling a therapist I saw about her, she immediately identified her as having BPD.

I felt sick to my stomach when I found out what BPD was and everything between my childhood with my BPD mom and grandmother and being with my ex clicked into place. My whole reality was warped from being so codependent with BPD people.
The sooner you part ways with this chick the better. You’re 31 years old and wasting valuable time of finding an actual life partner that you’ll be happy with. I understand she has no real shot at life without you, but that’s not your problem. She’s playing off of your guilt and kindness.
Do you live with your girlfriend?

You can't 'fix' them not because they have broken parts of the brain - the parts were never there to begin with. Their brain development as children just didn't pan out like everybody else. It's sad because it's not their fault really, but that doesn't mean you have to be punished for it either.
You know the old tales of Siren's luring men to their deaths? I'd bet they all came from guys who fell into the trap of falling for a BPD woman lol.

I dated one that overdosed after telling her family it was my fault. She had made numerous suicide attempts in the past, punched or kicked me, was a drug addict. I knew there was a chance this time she was telling the truth but she was abusive, a cheater, I was done and wanted nothing to do with her. It turned out she wasnt crying wolf this time. She overdosed on a cocktail of several drugs. She vomited and her airway became blocked cutting off oxygen to the brain. She lost 50% of her brain. I witnessed a young beautiful woman become something a little bit more than a vegetable. She cannot move or talk but seems conscious of me - she smiles and laughs sometimes. Physically she is in a lot of pain. A lot. I go to visit her sometimes. She cant speak. There is no real closure. Many people have tried to reach me. I have a shrink, a priest and a life coach at the moment. This has been going on for 15 years. I dont know if my story is going to have a happy ending. I am caught in a catch 22 where the moral decision would be to end life for us after my parents die but i also think thats what the devil wants. Maybe ill get lucky and something else will kill us first.

How did you ever let it get that far with someone that off their rocker? Must have been a pretty fast whirlwind process that ended up catching you off guard?
As far as trying to leave her goes, just tell her you support Donald Trump. Even if you don't, just claim that you do. There's a very high probability that she's an ultra SJW liberal moonbat who would consider supporting Trump enough reason alone to leave you lol.

You guys do know that there is also around an equal number of men with BPD right? The reason it seems more common in women is because the majority of men with BPD are either in prison or secure psychiatric hospitals. This is because men with BPD present differently to women. There is much more anger and substance abuse, less self harm and eating disorders. Which means they come to the attention of the police more than the women do.
I have BPD and have been in a medium secure psychiatric hospital. Iam still judged to be too much of a risk to myself and others in the community to live alone and am subject to a community treatment order, which means I have to attend weekly therapy and take my medication given as an injection once a month,if I don't the police turn up where I am living and take me back to hospital.

When mike tyson bit evander holyfields ear he had to have a psychiatric assessment before he would be allowed to box again. The medical report said while he had no mental disease or illness, he had borderline personality disorder.
I bang trannies.

Thread is terrifying.
Even though I'm still down over my recent break-up, after reading these stories I'm glad I only dated her for 6 months. I have no idea what sort of lasting damage she would have done to me if I had continued to fight for that relationship.
Guess I should also be thankful she hates my guts and wont even acknowledge my existence anymore either lol.

Also, was incredibly sure of what we thought she was, but it was an incredibly orchestrated manipulation. Once she got her reward, she completely threw off the disguise.

Wondered if any BPD diagnosed miscers would show up ITT.
Yes, men present differently and are often misdiagnosed.
Completely understand the negative hopeless tone of this thread. It isn't a "no hope at all" diagnosis though. I think that many people with this disorder are never diagnosed, live in denial of diagnosis, or never really commit to and work at treatment.
One type of borderline personality disorder treatment approach stands out with the most evidence of client improvement – dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). DBT is a very structured treatment style that requires consistency and dedication from the client and the treatment team.
DBT may focus on co-occurring issues like mood disorders, PTSD and substance use disorders, or the individual can receive separate treatment for those issues. Aside from counseling, prescribers may recommend medication management to alleviate some symptoms of BPD and the other disorders. Targeting the whole person, not just their BPD, is one way to improve the borderline personality disorder treatment outlook.
Follow up studies of people with BPD receiving treatment found a borderline personality disorder treatment success rate of about 50% over a 10-year period. BPD takes time to improve, but treatment does work.

There is a chance of getting better. Still wouldn't change my advice to OP if he is wanting children. At most give treatment a year and reassess because life is too short.
