I'm telling you, you never know what kind of day you're going to have as an officer. I one time had a legit......ummmmm, what's the PC way to say this, a legit domestic between two "special" people. The mom wanted the son's "special" GF locked up, because her brothers beat the "special" boyfriend up. Had to calmly tell mom, "Yeeeeeaaaaah, that's not gonna happen."

So no strikes, no taser, no oc spray, no choke holds, no kicks, he literally puts him on the ground and holds him there without injuring him, as little force as possible, and this cops still the bad guy?

While I get the "bear hug" logic it still puts the cop in danger of having his nose broken by a head butt or getting hit by an arm nub (bear hug won't control nubs like it will arms) so it's not a viable option. Easier to control on the ground without danger to either party.

So what other option is there but to start walking away from calls?

Probably best if the cop had taken a hands off approach in this situation.

And surely I thought I made enough hand and feet jokes to make my post not srs.

I got ya, I'm just saying, I would hate to be in this officer's shoes, "Yeah, I'm having a problem with one of these boys." "Where's he at?" "Right there." Points at the guy with no arms, and prosthetic legs. I'd be thinking, "Goddamnit, you really called me for this ****?"

Keep a cuff belt in your trunk and a sling. Sucks when they are resisting and trying to cuff a one armed man to their pants. Never had one wearing sweats lol thinking that would be impossible without esu straps

A one armed man in sweat pants......man, I mean, I have my own personal shackles, but I'll look into that sling.
