I walked out of the movie last night thinking “meh.”

But the more I think about it, the more I dislike it.

Chit was like a big budget fan fiction tumblr story.

Also every movie in the sequel trilogy has been a reaction.

TFA was a reaction to the prequel backlash. “We’re going to remake the original trilogy.”

TLJ was a reaction to TFA backlash. “We’re going to go all out and be the opposite of the original trilogy.”

RoS was a reaction to TLJ backlash. “FINE! We’re going to undo everything from TLJ and we’re going to decide our entire storyline based on what people on Reddit, Twitter, and YouTube comments sections want. Plus Palpatine is back. And he fukks.”

What Abrams shouldve done was have a flashback at the very beginning of the movie when palps was still alive with vader and shows that palps implanted his seed with the force in some random virgin similar to how anakins mother was implanted.

Then it moves to return of the jedi and shows vader killings palps. Then they go do present day and the movie starts from there


I just thought of that in 3 minutes. Im suprised a pro like abrams couldnt do something so simple to create a new backstory or expand on the backstory of rey

This entire trilogy was unnecessary. RotJ was the perfect ending to the story of all the characters from the OT and prequels. Disney could have just made an awesome, unrelated trilogy set in the Star Wars universe. Instead they decided to go for the nostalgia money and totally ruined the legacy of the previous movies and characters. Disney knows they pissed off the fans. That’s why they announced that they won’t be making a “mainline” Star Wars movie for a while and claimed it was because they want to avoid over saturation. They need to let the stink of this trilogy clear out.

I only saw the first in this schitastic new trilogy. I legitimately feel bad for those hardcore Star Wars geeks. If I was so into a beloved series and it was assraped in this way, I'd be heartbroken as well.

I grew up watching the original 3 movies, but was never a huge fan.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*
*Fat shame my cat on a daily basis crew*

The complaints about pacing were spot on. This film jumps around constantly to tie up its own plot holes or those from Episode 8. Space battle was interesting but it was pitiful how much they copied the OT. Right down to Palpatine showing a space battle through a window...lol.

It also makes what Vader/Luke did in RotJ seem pointless.

But did anyone else get feels when Leia died? Doesn't matter how bad this trilogy is, when she dies and they play her theme I legit got choked up, because I've watched the OT since I was 6 years old.

Same. I went in with rock bottom expectations, and if the special effects were entertaining that was all I needed.

But this movie in no way will hold up to scrutiny. Episode 8 made that impossible. But JJ probably did about as good as you could do tbh.

Just watched Witcher tv show, the first sword fight in this is better than any light saber battle/choreography out of these soy disney movies. What a shame you know they could have done it, if the witcher a tv show can billion dollar disney can make epic choregraphy to.

Disney needs to lay low for awhile, then damage control with an Ashoka film or series to compliment The Mandalorian. Ever watch Clone Wars or rebels? She is the best developed character in all of Star Wars.

A storyline to where she gathers and trains all the Grey Jedi would be epic.
