Keep waiting boyo

Developments are happening every day that can cause major swings (most likely negative) so hold onto your cash.

I'd say at least until end of the week then start buying.

This, I think markets will calm down when we see the first real signs of corona virus flat ligning in the west.

I think sometime over the next couple of weeks the daily US new cases will dip (flattening the curve), and that might reduce anxiety. Every time an event like this occurs, people panic and assume this is the big event that we'll never recover from. Typically I would have bought $10k in this spot, so I'm actually being cautious and spreading it out more than usual.

Of course, there are plenty of outcomes here where we dip another 20%, or even enter a longer term depression. It's massively (and statistically) unlikely I got in right at the bottom and don't expect so.

The former. My portfolio is ~20% bonds though.

Man so much happened since this thread started.

I dumped like $10k into VTI when Dow was at 19,000. I've lost some since the peak of the rebound but have sold and picked up individual equities at great prices- super cheap buys on BA, CVX, HD, OXY, TSLA, VLO, XOM. If I hold all those for the next six months, I bet there's a min 30% gain on the $15k sitting between them.

Haven't messed with my retirement accounts. Those are just in S&P tracking. Don't need to be clever with stuff with that time horizon

Not quite as quick as I predicted (following Italy's model etc.), but close if this is it.

I thought the economy was in bad shape well before Covid-19 and sold some stocks last week. I don't really care about FOMO, but I am surprised the market is performing well considering the trade war and the fact that globalization is shifting. It makes no sense at all.

But hey, markets never have and I will keep to my strategy since I am in the green anyways.
"The manlet is a savage beast that knows no moral bound. After falling in disgrace to a manmore, a ravaged manlet would not hesitate to come from behind and land a sucker punch/ swing with a rock to the back of a manmore's head. This is my first time investing I just put five hundred on carnival cruise lines (ccl) I believe.

Gonna research the suggestions Iโ€™ve seen here. Like i said itโ€™s my first time not really confident about it donโ€™t wanna just throw my cash away. Will probably find something else to put a grand on.

These are my thoughts too. The pump has dragged out a bit longer than I thought but I still believe it will get smashed again. I think we will need to see the worst of Covid19 to pass through the US before we can even think about a proper recovery.

Just kicking myself I didn't get in on the bounce but it is tough to pick a bounce.
