"Speak to Me" by Amy Lee of Evanescence
It's a haunting masterpiece!! Some of you young guys should listen to this song (for the entire duration) and see if you feel something...some kind of soul in you that might be lurking somewhere...IDK...Can you do that?
Many recent ballads by Evanescence, and Amy Lee, would qualify here, such as the "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" cover and "Wasted On You" (strings version!!), "Breathe No More," "Good Enough" and "The Last Song I'm Wasting On You"!

Once of my favorite covers.
It's in respect to George Harrison passing, but obviously, some of those playing also passed since. Tom Petty is incredible, and Prince + his solo is unreal here

Your life will never be a straight path.”
“To not only take risks, but to be open to life. To accept new views and to be open to new opinions. While it may be frightening, it will also be rewarding. Because the chances you take… the people you meet… the people you love…the faith that you have—that’s what’s going to define your life.”
“And when you fall throughout life, fall forward.”

Bad Company's 'ready for love' with a slower tempo than the original extending it out to 8 minutes from the original 5 minutes with guitar solos between the verse and chorus.
Mick Ralphs, the guitarist is the writer of the song. The bands lead singer, Paul Rodgers is IMO one of the best rock vocalist of all time.

few of my favorites
Miljenko Matijevic had the greatest range of all the hair bands
the 80s really was the best decade for music. It's like 25% of my workout playlist.

The current lead singer Arnel Pineda is a GOAT. Better than the original Steve Perry srs.
His voice is so loud and clear. Top 3 lead singer of all time IMO.

SkidRow's lead guitarist is a GOAT also. Never understood why they never used the live freestyle guitar intros on their studio album track recordings.

Another one of my favorite singers is Don Henley. Song is called 'Boys of Summer'.
Not so much a rock ballad, but a song that reflects back at time that has passed.
The tempo has been slowed down and it makes this version so much better than the original.
