Dont know what you expected, we have an entire generation who wants to get rich quick instead of working hard and bringing value to society. Wallstreet is definitely full of greedy thieving bastards, but let’s not pretend that the same people trying to cash in quick wouldn’t be just as greedy if they were the manager of a hedge fund.

If people want to be stupid and buy GME right now and lose their life savings then I say let them. It isn't the govt's job to take care of the stupid, it's Darwin's job. 'Protecting the stupid' means making govt bigger and more intrusive in everyone's lives which, in the end, is bad for everyone.
If the govt actually cared about people they would force fatties to exercise and tax obesity.

I have more respect for people who come out right and said they were doing it for the cash. Anyone who spent more than a few thousand to “stick it to Wall Street” is either lying or very low IQ.
You’re not going to beat them by playing their own game that they make the rules for.

The people who think hedge fund are evil and this is some religious battle.. I don't get. Because you're right, the largest companies wouldn't even be phased by some fukcery like this, and long-run will probably benefit.
I do get the fact it's cool WSB managed to pull off market manipulation that actually helped them for a change. Anyone who trades on a regular basis has realized how much MM's screw the retail traders with manipulation tactics basically every single day.
There is a real chance some retail traders make some real money here. But there has to be an exit strategy and hopefully nobody is risking money they'd care about losing. When the funds eventually cover all their short positions and most of the ITM calls have been assigned, this is gonna be a $2 stock again. But that cycle could take... days/weeks/months depending how stuff plays out.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd was at over $42 / share in Feb 2020, now it's at $24, recovering from a 52 week minimum of $7.
American Airlines Group Inc was at over $28 / share in Feb 2020, now it's at $18.10, recovering from a 52 week minimum of $8.
I'm no finance major, not even close. But looking at the numbers above, baring in mind that all minimums occurred during COVID, Norwegian Cruise Line has done a great job of rebounding, being hit especially hard out of the three by COVID, and has more to go still. Royal Caribbean Cruises has a lot more to go, as does American Airlines, if they'll ever reach their former potential... which I have no reason to say they won't.
