Why is lebrons community donating to a drug addict criminal instead of poor children who need help for their future is beyond me.

Floyn was in a particular state, and the officer was on notice of that and still knelt on his neck. It sucks for everyone he happened to die from not being able to breath while the officer had his knee on his neck, but that's how manslaughter works.
I get the argument, but they were on his neck for a few a minutes and he was clearly talking and you could clearly see his chest moving up and down the entire time.

You should check the video again because this was something I missed months ago too. They also already had ambulance on the way. Taken from the perspective of the drugs were slowly building up in his system until his body shutdown, his death makes a lot more sense.

I'm sure cuckdawg has something super edgy and woke to say about the Rayshard Brooks shooting as well. Blacks are just victims in his eyes... their actions never matter.

Those were mostly peaceful deaths though, stop trying to politicize the protests and focus on the real issues of systemic white supremacy and Donald Trump's dangerous rhetoric-- which will obviously still be to blame during the upcoming riots.

BIGOT.

No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

There's been many incidents where a civilian is high on drugs and dies during the process of being detained. Lethal overdose is lethal overdose regardless if you're in the bathroom of your own home or in the streets. Maybe Floyd should have been truthful for once in his life and told the cops he swallowed a baggy and was having a bad reaction. I can't see chauvin being convicted for this at all.

Partly I think this is tough because many people see the video and think it's insane that he could be kneeling on Floyd's neck. But that was allowed at the time. If I was on the jury I would be comfortable with manslaughter, but partly the officer is being made the object of a lot of frustration with how policing in the US is done in general. Drugged out or nor I just don't think it's acceptable to kneel on the neck of someone saying they are having a hard time breathing. Emotions are high and I'd hate to be that judge :P.

But if Chauvin made it worse in any way, that's manslaughter.

Again I ask, what should the police do instead? They have a belligerant suspect who is violently resisting, who refuses to sit in the car, and who is clearly under the influence.

Should they just hug him and compliment his thick, solid, and tight aesthetics until he cooperates?

The police need to be able to restrain someone brah. That is the social contract we all make.

I dunno', anything but kneel on the neck or someone saying they can't breath.

In all honesty, can someone explain why the cops kneeled on Floyd's back/neck though? I know Floyd was resisting arrest and that may not have even been the reason why he died but I am curious why they even do that.

the continued knee to the neck after he was unconscious and unresponsive looks really bad, i think that's really the only thing imo you could make a case for and that the guy died under their watch, even tho it was the ********

but the guy clearly was out of his mind, drugged up with enough chit that probably should have killed him earlier. he was all panicked and finnicky clearly but what do you do if a guy is not complying and resisting, who could potentially be dangerous and pose a threat.

This is one of the things that will likely be presented by the defense, showing that this was a standard maneuver for restraining.

I don't have the pic, but you might be able to find the pic on the internet of Minneapolis/Minnesota police training book that shows the position demonstrated in printed text.

am pretty sure that is how they are taught to subdue people, I even see this where I live where the cops would use a knee to subdue a criminal.

As far as I'm aware, I can't name any particular instances or cases where people die or have incurred long term damage by having a knee on their back/neck. Seems like a 1 and a million type thing, and even in this case, the guy was high as chit and had toxic amounts of drugs in his system. A case of pretty much all the stars aligning that culminated into this.
