The reason i joined misc is because i read whole bunch of funny threads back in the day before i had an account.

Lets be serious though there's no funny or interesting threads on misc right now that will entice anyone to join. Its mostly due to censorship and mods banning anyone who would post funny and or interesting content.


For those of you that joined misc recently, YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW AMAZING misc used to be back in the day. To put it in perspective misc was 10/10 when i joined now its 1.5/10 .

At one time basically 2004-2008 Misc was the most powerful English language forum on the net bar none .... it literally had the power to change the world and did .... but it was also 87% right leaning and heavily patriotic and nationalist.

Man everyone for years always chicken littled about misc dying but this really is a bullet to the dome of the forum that bbing dot com knows will eventually kill it.

After quitting world of Warcraft, and now no misc, that’s like all my fookin internet time. What am I supposed to use my phone and computer for now???

they aren't the e-giant they used to be but could consolidate to a way smaller model and be moderately successful on domain and reputation alone

If they really are trying to kill of the misc, it is much more thoughtful than I would have expected.

Option 1: kill misc instantly. Reaction: All the misc users find a new place to gather and are like "wtf" and the novelty of the whole thing gives the community something to talk about for a while and then the community just continues on.

Option 2: slowly kill of misc. require logins. don't allow new users. remove from search engine indexes. Reaction: ppl just slowly fizzle out one by one until there is no community left.

ayy lmao could this change have to do with that miscer that emailed bb.com's ceo complaining about the butthole spam troll? i believe this change is an attempt to remove alt accounts, maybe the site maintainers were trying to implement a clever way to reduce spam by alt accounts but thought it would be too much effort so they just half azzed it by making the forums available only to registered users and chit
