Do keep in mind, Katya, that the virus is almost certainly more dangerous than the vaccine, and that there are long term consequences to covid that can potentially harm an infected child, such as a loss of smell. The mortality rate is low for children, but nobody wants their child to get sick. The rational action is to vaccinate. There's no other way to spin it tbh. Whether it be mandated or not is a different discussion. I don't feel there is much utility in a mandate right now.
But to be unambiguously clear, yes you absolutely should vaccinate your kids given the opportunity. It's low yield but parents ought to do what is rationally best for their kids. There is overwhelming evidence the vaccines are safer than the virus.
