Slaughter aside for the moment I gotta ask if anybody here knows the difference between a “meat factory” and actual ranching? The Avenue taken to justify getting rid of cattle production is the effects on the environment/global warming.

Well let’s address global warming first, if you think cattle in the US are responsible for the half a degree rise in global temps over the last century and not the practices in countries like China and India I have a bridge to sell you. Now on to the environment.

I’m going to open with saying “meat factories” or as I know them, feed lots, are a disgusting practice and should be outlawed. That said cattle ran free range are actually good for they’re ecosystem as they prevent over growth and their feces provide nourishment for smaller animals. I run one cow per 40 acres even though I could probably push it to 1 cow per 20 acres but I don’t for the good of the land as well as the good of the animal. My cattle drink almost exclusively live water from creeks and streams and live as stress free of a life as possible as stress on a cow is bad for their health which leads to a worse product overall.

The point I’m making is that it’s glaringly obvious that most people, especially the alpaca fuking commie from Peru, know fuk all about the cattle industry. I can also assure you the “grass fed” beef you buy in a store is anything but that, it’s just a huge marketing scam.

Truth be told feed lots will be outlawed soon I believe and if traditional cattle ranching is outlawed as well the environmental effects will be terrible not to mention the amount of people left without a livelihood and the millions of cattle that will become worthless over night and be left to Mother Nature, who I assure you is far more cruel than man.

It baffles me how people who know nothing about meat production can be so sure of themselves when they say it should all be shut down. If you want a meat industry to go after for cruelty look into the full industrialized pork industry, there’s no such thing as free range pigs anymore thanks to corporate greed.

It wouldn’t kill people to admit maybe they don’t know everything about everything all the time and actually ask somebody that does instead of wanting to kill off an industry in favor of a very unproven new product.

Or you can stop being a consoomer and learn to grow your own food like a real man. No matter how much any government tries they cant ever stop You from learning how to grow your own crops. 90% of the food I eat is grown by myself, organic fresh and nutritious.

It's just unsustainable with the current demand, if meat consumption was a fraction of what it currently is you would have a point, but with the current meat over consumption it's just impossible to sustain it with free range pasturing.

You saying cattle ranching is good for the ecosystem is a blatant lie, do you know how many thousands of acres of forest and jungles are decimated every year to make room for cattle ranching?

If the meat is the same, I’ve got no issue with this. I don’t get any satisfaction out of killing things, or having others do it for me. The problem is, it probably won’t be the same.
