Nah wincel, this isn't it. With most of the vulnerable jabbed with remarkably effective vaccines, and a sizeable chunk of the population having naturally acquired immunity, there is no credible risk of a death wave anything like those of last March/winter again.

If there was, it'd have to be an entirely new virus. Delta seems more transmissible but less deadly, even for the unvaccinated.

That is viral evolution is a nutshell.

You can't give a virus to others if you are dead or home crippled. Mutations that are more contagious while having fewer symptoms result in people walking around feeling fine infecting others. The common cold would cause extinction if it worked the other way.

vaccine brah checking in but I don’t give two ****s if someone gets it or not. I didn’t want it but got pressured by my family as I see my parents often and they are older and my dad is a cancer survivor

the biggest question to me is how long are we going to be reporting cases? do people expect them to go to zero? there will always be variants and new boosters developed just like the flu vaccine. locking down just delays the inevitable. there are two ways to defeat a virus and that’s either vaccine and/or natural immunity not hiding in your house.

If cases are this high, it's still an issue. You want cases to be in the hundreds, not like 40k.
