It was 4 weeks yesterday.
No pain, incisions closed up already (minor scarring), very sore still. Asymmetrical swelling, which I’ve read it’s pretty normal. Got a bit scared when i noticed my left side was more swollen and my left nipple was a bit “puffy”. But I’ve read that’s normal and swelling lasts for a while and i won’t see true results until 3-6 months, while at the 1 year mark is when everything is official and permanent. I am dieting and doing IF while walking 4 miles each day. I see my surgeon next week to get the clearance to start doing exercising more.

I’ve read that in Canada it’s covered by health care I plan on moving there in the future but my gyno isn’t noticeable when I’m lean enough to have abs

if you had to fly out to do the surgery, who would drain the edema/seroma? Also, are you gonna put silicone sheets on the incisions? Massage scar tissue?

Honestly that’s a good first question. Videos I’ve seen on YouTube, the surgeon drains any collected fluid before the patient flies out. I’m sure if it gets to a worst case scenario, any doctor can drain out the edema/Seroma.

No silicone sheets. Just the compression vest with topi foam (similar to memory foam)

No massage scar tissue. I’ll be posting an update in a bit

This has been my weight since 11/27/21. Been walking 4 miles daily, dieting and doing IF (20 hour fasts), along with no alcohol. Went out this week with friends and had only water. It was hard but I’m used to it now.

This is what my body looks like now. Compare it to the ones in the OP

1/1/22

Still swollen on the left side, but with time it’ll go down (i hope). Obviously working on toning up now. Have lost 12 pounds since 11/27, granted about 2-3 of those were from surgery.

yeah if you had muscle from a long time ago, it should come back easy once you're able to lift weights. for now just focus on eating healthy and losing some fat, and recovering from surgery

Definitely. That’s my plan. I’ve always been able to lose the fat, except the gyno was still there so it was discouraging. Can’t wait to drop down again

before you got the surgery, if u pinched ur nips or were cold would they look normal for a little while?

Yep. That’s usually how you know you gave gyno. Always had to punch my nipples so they could become hard. Feels nice not to have to do that anymore.

A question I’ve gotten a lot through PMs:

Are puffy nipples always Gynecomastia?

Pretty much yes. You can have man boobs without puffy nipples.

The gland is what causes puffy nipples. You can lose all the fat you want and the gland will remain since it’s not made up of fat — think of it as a super duper benign tumor.

I always thought I had a little gyno from a bad prehormone cycle, but not even gonna think about surgery till I'm 13% or lower bodyfat and can confirm its not just that. Probably about 17-18% right now. There definitely seems to be a protrusion behind my nipple area when wearing gym shirts under downlighting.

That’s a good plan. Lower your BF% before for sure confirming it. If there’s any protrusion it’s usually gyno. The gland is what causes the nipple to be puffy. Or if you need to pinch your nipples for them to be hard, that’s gyno.

I have dropped down to 11% before and my gyno was still present, that’s how i know for a fact i had it before it being confirmed by the surgeon

Mirin, I plan to get it done in the future. Luckily mine isnt super bad and as long as I keep my bf in check its not really noticeable. When I went to FL in july it showed bad, humidity plus being 250lbs and drinking beer everyday really made me self conscious about it.

You should do it — even if it’s minor. Makes a huge difference, especially in warm weather. Don’t need to punch my nipples anymore

That's a nice low bf percentage. How did you test to see if you were at 11%?

I got LASIK in Mexico and it’s still working pretty well after 15 years. Did you get it done in the states?

No. I just live in a border city and makes it easier to travel across. It’s a 10 minute drive. At that time i didn’t have insurance here in the states so i would travel to Mexico for anything

Went to my surgeon for my 5-week post-op follow up.

Still need to wear compression vest (had to request a smaller one). Good news is i don’t need to wear topi foam anymore (similar to a memory foam mattress). Got cleared to run, and lift weights (slowly obviously). I’m so excited!

Will start massaging the scar tissue away, since there’s plenty of it. I’m still early in the recovery process. Nonetheless, I’m very happy. Will go back in April, which is when I’ll be taking updates pics for you guys

Massaging my nipples (and around) and the scar tissue. Feels weird and gives me goosebumps. Wearing shirts or sweaters on top of my skin feels weird as I’ve had a vest and foam between my skin and shirt for a month now.
