It’s honestly so easy to be a SAHM in comparison, but I also work in a stressful career. It’s nothing like an attorney or doctor though.

SAHM responsibilities don’t take much thinking, except for the volunteer work I performed. That’s one issue of being a SAHM is that people think you have all of this time for volunteer work, and one auction seriously took 20 hours a week for me to lead.

But I was able to work out during the day when she was in school or the gym day care so I didn’t have to put her to bed and go to the gym at 9pm like I do as a working Mom. I can see why working Moms get out of shape.

Most of the SAHMs were on social media and messaging me about drama when the kids were napping. It was a chill life but I also wore clothes that were 10 years old as finances were tight.

I'm talking about young babies and toddlers that are too young for school. And not shoving them off into daycare or a nanny. Full time with the kids.

Once they are school age, I can see time freeing up a bit for part time work.

I'd wager that more women prefer a man who provides structure and leadership that is fair, just, and consistent than not.

I'm also a believer that women can't be attracted to a man they don't respect first.

Commanding respect through performance and achievement is one way, that inspires awe, but that can also be tiresome, always having to perform. What if someone needs a break?

Whereas commanding respect through reinforcement of boundaries (should they be crossed) that inspires fear of consequences (within reason) is somewhat stronger and more reliable. The only time you have to act is when it's crossed.

I think instilling a low level of fear from crossing someone's boundaries is what gets men the most respect and is the most durable, longest-lasting form. Respect from performance is legit but short-lived, it only lasts as long as one is performing at that level.




Other countries have their own norms. Some norms are obviously over the top (beheading, burning alive, stoning, etc). If they ran away from that, I don't blame them. Who wouldn't? But don't blame the men for that. Blame the culture.

If on the other hand they were in a westernized country, I would ask in that case where are they now? happily married to a second husband they can walk all over? or alone complaining "where'd all the good men go?"

The context I'm using is American culture where enforcement of justice is fair and within reason (penalty fits the infraction).

At the end of the day, it's all about respect. Without that, there's no foundation to stand on. Everyone respects the man who enforces what is fair and just. Whereas no one respects the guy who gets walked all over.
