You are only too old to go when it isn't fun. Who cares what the barely old enough to get in kids think.

A few years back I went for what will probably be my last time and I was ~41. It was Sound Bar in Chicago, so a busy place. Went with a 30 year old tall, sexy Korean and her friend. She bought bottle service and we chilled and danced off and on. No way would I have enjoyed standing on the crowded dance floor all night though, but it was fun. Definitely not as fun as it was in my early 20s. It would have been boring just going with a few buddies.

Got some looks, as I dressed nice and was with a hot girl (that part always helps get other female's attention).

The hardest part about talking with groups of 18-21 year olds is their obsession with pop culture. I barely cared about that stuff at that age and I definitely don't now. But get them together and they'll ramble about Netflix shows or mumble rap or garbage concerts or social media non stop. But I try to allow them to be typical young people while also dropping a knowledge bomb here or there when appropriate. Or talk about stuff we're both interested in like sports.

In smaller groups or one on one it's MUCH easier talking to them because other people don't steer the convo that way.
