Neither the word "efficiency" nor "efficient" appear in the article.

COVID-19 vaccine efficacy and effectiveness—the elephant (not) in the room.
If it is not effective (useful), then it is not efficient (doing the very thing it was meant to do)

You introduced the term as an explanation as to why covid survival rates are relevant to the discussion of vaccines.
But, didn't elaborate on what the term means or how it relates to covid survival rates and vaccines.

Jeezus this thread is full of info just laying waste to the idea that these vaccines did anything significant or lived up to what people were (seeming dishonestly) lead to believe and this J.L.C guy just wants to argue semantics of one guy's post...holleefuk

Can you imagine the pile on and name calling if someone who doesn't support the Misc narrative made up a term and kept running with it?

vaccine effectiveness studies are useless because of survivorship bias

The CDC just quietly erased 71,000 covid deaths including more than 400 children who were said to have died from omicron when they wanted to approve the jab for kids

The source material is good. The social media interpretations of the material, are not.
If a study enrolled 20,000 patients into the control group and 20,000 in the vaccine group and 200 people in the control group got sick and 0 people in the vaccine group got sick, the vaccine efficacy would be a 100%, the ARR would show that vaccines reduce the absolute risk by just 1% (200/20,000= 1%).
For the ARR to increase to 20%, 4,000 of the 20,000 people in the control group would have to get sick (4,000/20,000= 20%).
ARR is a much lower number, so it might seem like it is saying RRR isn’t true. But that's not accurate. Both metrics capture some aspect of reality, but they measure different ways.

Efficiency is doing things in the most economical way. It is the ratio of the output to the inputs of any system."

"Efficacy vs. Efficiency
The truth is, the real reason why "efficacy" is so often confused for "efficiency" is because they do have slightly similar meanings. They both refer, somehow, to how efficient an intervention or an action is. Even so, there are some subtleties that make these nouns different and appropriate in different contexts.
"Efficacy" defines the performance of an intervention in an ideal context, in controlled circumstances. Or, more concretely, it refers to the ability of something to produce the desired results, in ideal conditions. "Efficiency" refers to the ability of doing something well and obtaining the best possible results with the minimum or null waste of time, money, energy or other resources.
When do we use "efficacy"?
"Efficacy" expresses the ability of a domain, of a person or of an action, to obtain the desired results, in an ideal context.
Example: The efficacy of medicine was impressive in quickly creating a vaccine for the new disease.
When do we use "efficiency"?
"Efficiency" defines the ability to obtain the best possible results with the minimum waste of resources. It can be used in any domain, from personal time/task management, to the business field and even entire industries."
