Rest day today for me.

Lifted Monday and Tuesday, so today off.

Last week I was out of the gym Wed-Sun. I'm getting old so I got an old man injury - slept funny Tuesday night, woke up Wednesday and had burning tingling down my right arm and my trap was tight AF and hurt to engage it at all. Obviously had my neck cocked in some funky position and pinched a nerve or something along those lines. Basically just did rolling, massaging, stretching, ROM, etc., for it until it felt better Monday.

Glad this thread is still going.

Chest+legs today.

Been on my current split w/current configuration for like 3 months now.

Gonna change it up a little bit, change some movements out in favor of other ones, etc.

Still gonna keep it C+L and B+S, but just change exercises, rep ranges, etc.

Been back at it for about 2 weeks now. I've been in therapy which has actually helped a ton, I got switched to a female therapist and she's really done wonders. Pain is just about gone minus still having weakness in my right arm a bit. Today I was able to actually get my right arm firing for pressing movements. Nothing impressive but at least I felt like I did work. Still not touching anything that loads my neck/spine. Hoping to be back to 100% soon.

My chest is 46 inches now. Getting absolutely yoked. Strength going up as well. Gonna stay between 220-230 for a while and might eventually go above that if I'm lean enough

Curious what people ITT think of Goblet Squats.

Been doing mostly (paused) squats for my "big" leg movement over the last few months (and pretty much all the time because I love squatting).

Am considering swapping out BB squats for high intensity DB Goblet Squats for a little while, mostly just as a change of pace but also because I like how they feel.

My gym only has DBs up to 110s, so I can't go super heavy, but it might be fun to rep them out for a bunch of sets.

Just something different from my norm lol.

I really like goblet squats with an elevated heel. Slow descent and a hard squeeze at the top. Don't think it could swap out a primary lower body movement, but it's a great accessory movement.

Yeah I struggle with the idea of swapping out back squatting for it lol.

I don't do a ton of deadlifting, honestly. Deadlifts never felt 'good' to me so I do them sparingly and invest most of my lower body effort into squatting which does feel good.

Wondering what kind of results I might get if I do the following for the leg portion of my C+L day:

Semi-sumo stance DL (Heavy semi-squat-y, semi-hinge-y movement)
Quad extensions (burn the fukkers out)
GHR (because personal GOAT Hamstring engagement movement, even beats isolation hamstring curls for me, personally)
Goblet Squats (at the end after fatiguing myself with previous movements).

Probably wouldn't hurt to focus on DLing for a little while. I don't feel like I neglect doing them but I definitely don't do them as often as most would call ideal.

Also as I'm looking at that workout, it just seems like it would be fun lol. And I am all about enjoying my workouts.

Fuark brahs, one of my favorite C+L workouts to date.

I did what I wrote above in terms of Leg stuff and it was pretty killer, actually.

Didn't even have a true "plan" in terms of sets/reps, just did what felt good. Not super thrilled to be not-squatting, but I really should give DLing some love for a bit so I'm okay with it for now.

As for Chest, I swapped out weighted dips and changed my rep range on low-incline DB (keeping the movement in again). Decent workout tbh.

Life happens bro. Think of it as a solid rest for joints and connective tissue. When you get back in just startslightlylighter than you think, and you'll probably end up with a killer AF pump.

Looking for something different tonight I did something I have not done in 4 or 5 years+. BFR training. I forgot how much this sh!t hurts

I think I am going to bring it back into rotation a little. Allows me to use less weight and really abuse my legs. I only do 1-2 sets at end of workout.

I thought about lifting all day yesterday and today, and I lifted today, and it was great.

Nothing too fancy, some OHP while I'm getting back into it, some overhead squats to keep the shoulder mobility (shoulder been the main the keeping me from lifting lately), a bunch of accessory work, and some light good-mornings.

No idea how train good mornings really. Felt like I was hitting deadlifts but just light... Will see if things feel better as I improve. Staying away from DLs for now as the strain has maybe irritated my shoulder in the past, and I"m trying to be careful.

Hit 224x4 with two negatives at the end of it today. Definitely getting stronger. I need to get to the point where i'm easily repping off 225x5 by myself hopefully in the next few weeks.

Thinking about adding stomach vacuums to enhance the adonis belt. Do these actually promote core stability though?

I'm kind of phasing out of working out only for aesthetics as I get older. Prioritizing strength/balance/flexibility etc

Keen to hear opinions on vaccuums, my understanding is that you do them if you want to get good at posing with a vaccuum pose but I have no experience doing it

Weighted planks, leg raises and situps will work your trunk. Compound movements too.
