Over-moderation (they tried to be more like reddit) that banned the posters that contributed most to the forum and killed any incentive to post "epic"/ "legendary" threads through fear of being banned or detectived by some low life loser.

Honestly misc had so much influence (by being top of Google search) that it spilled into everyday life..people were funnier and weren't as hostile.

MISC could have survived if the mods cultivated what they had, tried to grow the userbase and forum and promote the environment that brought peopol here, within reason. But they didnt, they banned anyone they felt they wanted to, and a lot of the times these were the posters actually creating content.
True content was the lulzy threads--those with pictures, a purpose, etc. Brought traffic. Brought sales... etc
Likely will see the same collapse in bb.com store as well. Just shooing away the loyal customer base.
