Not married, but may be able to offer some insight. Women are emotional creatures who thrive on uncertainty and drama. Marriage (at least in a Western country) removes all of that, as they've now got their man over a barrel. Asymmetric family law creates a "heads I win, tails you lose" situation. I think that's a big part of it. They just naturally lose attraction, having "won" the game.

And to be fair, it's a man's job to keep his woman excited and involved in the relationship - sexually and otherwise. A lot of guys give up and/or get beaten down over time.

Well, $hit... Didn't expect this to become a 5 page thread. Lots of useful information from the Misc on display here, thanks brahs and brahdettes.

I hear a lot of men complaining about their angry, emotional and controlling wives, but rarely hear a guy say how wonderful his wife treats him. Probably because I work with a bunch of manly men, who don't dress up and take the wife out every weekend, and don't give her the excitement and drama shot she craves. The one guy who did that stuff to placate all her princess desires and emotions, is now divorced. She fkd off with another dude, who love bombed her better than hubby did. Even left him with the kids. Must have been an incredible dicking down she got.

My wife is grumpy occasionally, but it's rare. I don't really pay attention to other people's wives so I guess I'm no help, sorry OP

Because marriage ends up being more about a partnership involving finances, kids, jobs, etc.
There is no intimate attraction towards each other anymore. How could there be when the husband ends up drinking beer every day and sitting on his ass watching football and not having any real hobbies or being the least bit interesting.

Misery does love company, this why men go to pubs and bars to complain and whine while a man completely stable and happy doesn't need that. Also people are reluctant to share happiness as not everyone appreciates it or congratulates them for it.

^^ as fun as that sounds, it’s a ticking time bomb, most women have no emotional regulation, imagine in low inhibition parties, alcohol involved. Godspeed
