My theory is that dating is based on the concept of supply and demand. If theres a shortage of men, women will naturally have lower standards. If there is a massive supply of men, women will be much more selective. With social media nowadays women have a nearly unlimited supply of men to choose from making traditional style of dating exponentially more difficult for the average male.

You can also think of it in terms of a "stranded island theory" If you put a 5/10 male on a stranded island with 20 victoria secret models he will be smashing most of them...if you add in an additional 50 men it will be extremely harder. I would say im a 7/10. The way I compete in today's market is to just keep being persistent with women. Dont give up too easily, if they have dozens of guys texting them sometimes they will forget to respond. Just keep trying

lol @ speed dating events, singles mixers, etc. I was invited to a couple before and when I looked it up and it showed a list of attendees, the ratio of men to women was easily 10 to 1. Even if you're a top shelf guy that's just a waste of time having to navigate through. Plus it's been proven when people in general have too many options they end up either picking nobody or not being happy with the choice they made.

I've never heard of people having long-term committed relationships as a result of speed dating and singles mixers, and I doubt you have either. It's a place for those professional dater types who aren't serious about settling down anytime soon and just want to play the dating game until they get bored of it.
