Most people can't get this through their head because it would involve everyone admitting we are failing as a society. Most Americans are too stubborn to admit they're doing anything wrong. It's a lot easier to just blame guns than the underlying problems. That's why NOTHING ever gets fixed around here.

Clinton banned 'assault weapons' in 1994, if only Timothy McVeigh had access to those assault weapons... the lives that could have been saved.

I'm not a huge gun fan nor do I own one. If you pro-gun control supporters legitimately believe that gun control could be implemented at a wide-scale level in the United States you are sadly mistaken. There are millions of guns in circulation every day. If anything, it would only hurt the individuals like myself that have not yet purchased a gun. Guns have been a part of American culture since it's inception. You can't just snap two fingers together and believe that our government is going to regulate effectively. If anything, it would just cause a widespread panic.

No thats mental health issue which is the common factor in all mass killings. Hence you solve the problem [mental health issue], not masking it by blaming a tool that was used in the mass killings.

Probably didn’t help that we (literally) can only house 1/10 of the mental patients we could house 60 years ago, while the US population has doubled. Letting 95% of the people we used to institutionallze wander around can’t possibly result in any issues, right?

I don’t know why you are trying to argue the semantics of phrasing mental health. People in this thread love going down rabbit holes deflecting from the actual problem.

Unsure if a repost. But this is quite relevant.
https://pjmedia.com/jchristianadams/...hing-happened/

Cliffs:
We have had semi automatic guns through history.
30 Years ago it was normal to see guns in schools, used at high school shooting ranges
Something has changed culturally, and its not the presence of guns
We should be working to address the cultural issues that are creating this violence, not seeking to scapegoat an inanimate object.
We are all gunna make it
