Your parents enjoyed those rights, your grandparents enjoyed those rights, their parents enjoyed those rights…you have had them taken from you and have been convinced by the people who needed them more than you that it was ok to forfeit them.

The truckers are fighting for your rights back, if they win, you still get as many doses of the vax as you want, you still get to wear a mask wherever you want, you still get to keep your job and earn a way of life…nothing changes for you, so why don’t you support them for trying to support you?

Doug Ford has flip flopped so many phucking times I've lost count. not to mention we don't know if chit starts to hit the fan whether or not he'll bring it back again. at least there is comfort in knowing that if it does come to that. the truckers are prepared to raise hell on them again. Not sure what soon actually means. I don't understand what waiting does for many of these measures in general, like they really think these vaccine passports did anything in the first place and as if removing it 2 weeks later will do anything. Faster that we can get back to normal, the better.

Weird conflation. But, what you wrote doesn't address my points.

Suggesting people leave their homes to continue working or allowing their children to sleep until the government is replaced doesn't sound particularly free.

The mandates you're concerned with are provincial.

Odds are he will try to pull some sort of partial thing. He has to appease both sides. The truckers and other demonstrators that are causing a problem and also he has an election coming up in four months he wants to win. Giving into the people who want mandates removed will alienate a ton of voters on the other side. He really can't win so has to balance out what is best for him politically. He's got a lot of major groups that have already gotten pissed at how he's handled the pandemic so far. Teachers, parents, child care, nurses, small business owners, etc.

Left wing voters hate him already and all they need is more excuses NOT to vote for him. Truckers are generally right and are already his base anyway. I'll be curious to see if he either gives in and tries to solve the problem peacefully somehow or lays the hammer down and starts cracking skulls. My thought is he's going to start cracking skulls along with the feds.

Why do you take this stance versus the convoy, but not when people are required to leave their workplace if they do not get vaccinated? In neither case are people truly forced, well, until they're fired for "not being apart of the team," or more directly in some work places - directly fired for not taking the vaccine.

Threatening people with actual jail time might. Up to 100k fine and 1 year in jail penalty. Move your truck and you can go home. Don't know a lot of people that would sit there anyway, especially if you have kids.

And threatening to cancel your personal drivers license, not just the commercial one. Again, something a lot of people can't put at risk.

What they are doing is basically making things like blockades and setting up shop in locations fully illegal, which they technically weren't before. All you need is about 50% of the people involved to give up and it's done, the rest tumble like dominoes.
