lmao So all these girls are sleeping with the same group of men. Yeah, that sounds really believable.

I don't care.

I completely agree brah. We're on this earth to reproduce, make a family, converse with others. We're social creatures, not social media creatures.

Probably the above things plus they were brought up being coddled and to think they can 'be whatever they want', everyone gets a participation trophy, etc. But become disillusioned once they realize the world doesn't work that way.

Crappy upbringings by parents (single mothers) Doesnt have a father figure
a lot of competition for sub par jobs, the market is crap
college is expensive, degrees are getting less valuable
salaries are low while the cost of everything goes up
feminism
I will also blame technology, its made it to the point that men dont interact with people at all anymore and they end up having crappy social skills.

Spontaneous social interaction is often frowned upon and met with contempt meaning that socializing has become a thing limited to a very small number of places and occasions. People have a harder time meeting and feeling safe and comfortable talking to people. They will not put themselves out there as much because society has shunned it.

Gender roles have left everyone confused and lost. Women no longer value femininity - a trait that men wildly desire. Rather, they seek to prove to the world how "strong" they are but this often comes from the wrong place. It stems from narcissism, insecurity, hatred and pent up rage. This leads to them doing things with the mindset of having to put men down in order to raise themselves up. Instead of showing the world how strong, smart, and capable they can be, they may try to show how incompetent, silly, and foolish men are.

This has left men feeling shamed for being masculine. Feeling guilty for being a man. They may become white knights or beta male SJWs to win validation from nastry women. Men can no longer express masculinity through approaching women, being assertive, showing feelings, expressing thoughts, etc. Society will shame them.

Social media has taken everybody out of the present moment. Lingering in the back of everyone's mind is "where should I eat to get the best instagram photo", "dam should have snap chatted that", "wait let me get this on camera", "hey say that again for my snapchat", etc. Actions in life are dictated by how they will be perceived on social media and how it will in turn affect their status and projected lifestyle image.

The realm of dating has been reduced to a superficial pick and choose game where women hold all the power. They have too many options. Choice overload causes their standards to become too high and their selections too small. In what world can you know somebody's favorite movie, book, age, height, weight, school, job, etc before you even meet them? I can meet a stranger right now and get along with them. But wait, when I find out they don't like the same music as me we're not going to be cool anymore, right? No. It doesn't work like that and it's silly to screen for things like that. Anyone can come up with a list of arbitrary traits and qualities they seek in a partner. The fact of the matter is that until you actually meet somebody all of that crap on the list is useless. How you vibe with somebody has little to do with such arbitrary standards. And in fact, oddly enough when you actually meet somebody who you like and feel a connection with, what you'll probably find is that you don't like them for the reasons on your stupid list. The reasons you like them are often abstract. Words can't even describe it. It's afeeling.

Work-life culture is in ruin. People spend 20+ years in school only to spend the majority of their waking life for the next 40+ years slaving away. School isn't even about higher education anymore it's about creating workers and teaching skills that are useful to commercial society. Technology and the rise of machinery has only contributed more to the isolation and loneliness that we feel today. Machines now pulsate with life while man has become a robot, model 9T05. Then when it's all over we finally get our 2 week vacation period! Yay! After slaving for 50 weeks I get 2 weeks off! Thanks boss! Our best days, most productive and energetic hours are spent in slavery. There is little time for ourselves. No energy for thought and no place for creativity, relaxation or expression. Every chore is crammed into what time we have left. Society has parted from man.

exactly my thoughts

why do anything when there is a fk ton of problems with the social and physical life of human beings?

this is why people just work chitty retail jobs, sit in their rooms and play video games all day and order pizza online ...
nobody gives a fk anymore

people just wanna relax and smoke pot, nobody wan'ts to be a slave to society, their employer, or a slooooott

After investing many tens of thousands in education many are disillusioned because the picture painted by their boomer parents has failed to materialise or doesnโ€™t measure up. Most find their work uninspiring and dull with surveys are showing they are the least engaged and loyal workers. The get in, work hard and youโ€™ll work your way up is now a myth from a bygone era.

Wages have been on the decline (in real terms) for 40 years and housing costs are skyrocketing. Young people are hit hardest and the future does not look to get better.

There is constant pressure for companies to constantly cut costs and do thing faster/cheaper to remain competitive which knocks on to the workers working conditions and stress levels. More entry level employment opportunities younger people are competing for are badly affected too with companies demanding employees for have exactly the skill set they need - there is no room for training or development.

Young people are living very transient lives. With so many moving to go to university and then keep moving for employment building and life, a social network and other relationships becomes difficult.

The world is less tolerant of failure or hitting bumps in the road. U-turns on career or education carry heavy penalties.

Because most of them are spoilt mollycoddled and therefore depressed and lazy

A lot of them aren't allowed the freedom to become functional adults that us old folks were.

Also they get told they can be anything they want to be if they try hard in school and it's a lie

Few reasons for that:

1- Increased competition
2- Spoiled by media standards
3- Become more lazy due to advanced technology
4- Had more exposure to studies then ever before

It is 100% due to the global economy. Why are the young (i.e. under 30 let's say) demotivated? Because they're the first generation to feel the effects of this:

Workers are more productive than ever, yet the compensation/productivity ratio is at its lowest ever. The rich are getting richer, and poor are getting poorer, and it's happening quickly. The last few years is when the first bunch of adults have grown up and been affected by it.

This doesn't mean that everybody is in dire straits - the average person muddles on through - so there are young miscers here who have no clue what this thread is about, but that's not because things are 'good', but rather they're unaware.

I feel that if a young person mentally drops out of the rat race and becomes a NEETcel or whatever, it's a completely rational decision which has become rational due to these economic conditions. It just probably isn't the healthiest decision.

Tip for younger miscers: pick a career which has a defined path and whose labour force are protected in some manner via unions or accreditation or whatever. Medicine, law...trades even.

It's because the bullchit materialistic/consumistic ethos that was fabricated in the 80s to give political justification to the brutal regression of equality policies and workers rights has finally shown its ugly face when the crisis hit.

From another perspective (but actually the same) it's because the generation of eternal mememes and menchildren who ruled the world from the 60s to today is finally dying and they can't die fast enough.
