I figure it will take a certain amount of years before "total peace", or as close to that will come about... the Muslims will become more western, essentially.

The main problem is that the rulers and governors of policies that affect these issues are very retarded. They are people who simply do not have the IQ to take on these challenges. In Europe, they are called the EU parliament and they are self-important humanities degree individuals who haven't done any work; In the USA they are called Democrats.
Immigration and all of its surrounding problems can be traced back to the root problem of politics - these places are taken on by people based on charisma, family name, wealth and connections.
We need to put top tier STEM people on these positions who can solve these issues in a practical manner.
