I'll just add my first had experience

Had bad hormonal acne during high school. Got on accutane. Cleared up completely after the accutane regiment. Haven't had any side effects since

These broscience remedies aren't going to do anything for you OP. They didn't work for me

Ya I have bad scars.

Years ago my ******* derm gave me a custom mixed poverty chemical peel that did absolutely nothing. It was creamy moisturizer based. If anything it made the skin worse. Acne prone skin doesn't need more grease.

Retin a seemed pretty good. It makes the skin peel and is supposed to make it look better and younger. I've used it up to the highest strength. It didn't remove my scars sadly. It's expensive too if you don't have a plan.

Tanning is the best for making crap skin look better. Too bad about the side effects.

Has anyone tried strong chemical peels or laser scar removal on acne scars?

Definitely has nothing to do with diet since I cut out sugar, dairy, and was clearly eating less calories since I was losing weight.

I'd go back to my dermatologist, but I already know whatever she recommends is fukkin bullchit cause I've had acne for like the past 3 years ever since I started college. Completely kills my confidence, but now its at an all time low.

I feel like accutane is my only choice after how bad its gotten recently. I have no motivation to talk to sloots right now cause there's literally no point with this bs going on on my face.

Cliffs:
-OP started using the acne.org regimen

OP, try Tretinoin before you resort to Accutane. The stuff is a miracle worker and won't fry your liver. SRS.

yeah, you will have to give blood monthly, so they can keep an eye on your cell counts. But as long as it's monitored you'll be fine.

Would buying eye drops help prevent the loss of night vision? I heard that decreased night vision is a side effect of accutane while your taking it, and I still need to be able to drive at night.

20mg is nothing brah

increase the dose.

20mg will make it last lik longer to work than if you took 40mg

better to take 40mg 3 months instead of 20mg for 6 months

Good on you for listening to quality advice. Stick to that chit until the end and DO NOT QUIT OR DRINK ON IT!

Take care of your skin using sunscreen not sunblock. Sunscreen is superior and doesn't tan or burn you while on it.
Good quality sunscreen that is nice for a start is Shiseido

http://www.sephora.com/ultimate-sun-...20grid:p393074

I use that one since I live in one of the hottest places in the US and sweat off most basic sunblock (not that I use it anymore anyways). You don't have to use this one but as long as you watch out for titanium dioxide and zinc oxide sunscreens you'll be fine. Hell you'll probably wonder why your skin doesn't feel so hot once you use this and didn't think of it earlier. Don't be like me and fuk up your skin by getting it leathery through lack of quality sun protection. Now I have to get Co2 laser resurfacing to correct my fuk up.

As for the actual accutane - 20mg is cake. They are going to use that to see how you handle it. Now, At least for me, trust me when I tell you that when you get to 100 to 120mg a day THAT'S when you start experiencing crazy side effects. I don't know what you may experience obviously or when it might hit you but if you start to feel down do not discontinue. You saw the flyer and signed it before getting on so you know what to expect anyways. I suggest you don't pay mind to those negative thoughts and keep on moving. When you're done with that you'll be glad you set out to get a respectable doc that gives a chit to hook you up with something that works.

Can't, they start you off at 20 mg for your first month, and then gradually increase it from there. My doctor said I'll probably end up taking 60 mg or 80 mg in the end.

All this stuff is heavily monitored brah, they make you do blood work every month.

Hope it works great for you. I just got prescribed a sulfur face wash and retin a. Washing my face with panoxyl in the morning and the sulfur at night followed by retin a. Seems to be doing okay but the next step when I go back is accutane if it doesn't improve.

Right now, it seems like I'll be getting it which I'm excited for. Not excited about the cost though since I don't have insurance and it's like $300/month.

Anyone know of a good health care plan?

Week 1 of accutane complete. Old cysts definitely have shrank, but there are some new ones from the initial breakout phase of taking accutane. The improvements look a lot better in real life than in this picture.

So far no negative side effects. Skin is starting to peel.
