MGS 3 by far the GOAT single Played campaign, in terms of story

Resident Evil 4 gets an honourable mention

Doom single Played is the most fun i have had on any game this year

so many to name that i like for different reasons. game i thought was the best on first playthrough only was bioshock, game i poured the most hours into was skyrim, and the game i could keep going back to play despite beating it multiple times was uncharted 3.

i'd say the game that best combines all three of those attributes was witcher 3 though.

Fallout 3 and Skyrim are tied for me, but I've always been big on the Legend of Zelda games.

Playing through the main console LoZ games in the published chronological order right now. Oot brought be back big time. The time mechanic in Majoras Mask is driving me bonkers... feels like they threw it in forcing you to redo things just to make the game feel bigger than it is.

god of war was sick. gta 3 when it first came out, when I was like 13... my mind was blown. it was so ground breaking for it's time. dark souls 1 was epic.

i'd have to go with The Last of Us. best single player game ever. I stayed up till like 8 am to pass it.

Such an epic experience I always will cherish. Some giants were SO beautiful it was a shame you had to kill them.

Played so many games hard to decide which one is the best.
FF7 for it's time was unreal. The CGI and new "graphics" for the birds eye view free roam was great. Really innovated the genre.
FF10 had great story telling and was easy to get connected to the world
The Witcher 1 story line can easily be debated as the best.
Dragon Age: Origins had a great story and also re-energized an old style of controlling a whole group.
Pillars of Eternity brought back what was great about DA:O in their own way.
GTA:Vice City
Morrow wind - Skyrim brought a whole new look for games. Taking modding to a whole new level giving it potential for infinite play throughs
Metal Gear Solid 1

All of those for me could go down as the best single player games.

One that I feel is underrated and should get more credit is Mount & Blade: Warband.

Witcher 1 has a top tier story. The combat is lame, but Witcher 3 combat isn't much better when you just spam rolls or the shield spell.
W1 also has a mind blowing ending if you don't have the attention span of a gold fish.
W3 is over hyped by a lot. It's a beautiful game, really vast, and it feels like you can do anything you want. Issue is that it is manly bells and whistles. Don't get me wrong it's a good game, and does the witcher series fairly proud. But it was catered to a more to the average person and took a lot of substance out of the series that the first one had.

To everyone saying the Kingdom Hearts series... they ARE remaking the games for the PS4. It was just announced a week or so ago.

The release date is expected to be March 28th, 2017.
