For anyone who can whip 135 around like nothing, the push press vs. strict press make little to no difference. It's simply clean and pressing like a mad man for 60 seconds which is the hardest part. I don't have the cardio to handle it, straight up.

Iceman modeled it after CrossFit WOD Grace

I don't believe there are any standards for the workout besides hitting the floor and lockout for each rep

If I'm wrong, so be it

This. It's not that strict. It's meant to be challenging but still be fun. It's meant to be something everyone has a reasonable chance at doing. If you can only get one rep, that's still more than the person sitting on their behind did.

In Crossfit terms (yes I did and competed for a couple years) this would be more in the line of being label ground to overhead. Who cares how it gets there as long as it's in the floor and then locked out on every rep.
As i get older I am realizing i have to get while the gettings good. I can put stats and PR's up here all day long. But, the main concepts with my workouts....
1. GO BIG OR GO HOME.
2. FORM IS EVERYTHING
3. BREATHE.

Did clean and jerks instead. I don't think I can strict press my bodyweight for even one rep.

7 reps (8 if you count the last one)

Good looking form.

Still counts in my book given the generality of this competition.

Oh and tomorrow is Sunday which means it'll be the last day to throw up a video for this challenge, do it even if you're not competing for first.

Also start throwing out some ideas for Iceman to consider for next weeks (there have been a few good ones mentioned).

If my shoulder wasn't wasted I'd be in.

Anything non pressing I'm good to go for next week.

Some ideas:

Chins
Squats
Grip challenges
Complexes

Power/push jerk should just be called a push press. Same thing tbh.

I figured it's something everyone can do in a local gym. I'd prefer a sand bag carry for fastest time over 100 feet but most don't have access to a sand bag.

A lot of people could compete in that one for sure. It's certainly a test of grip strength and this definitely won't favor the heavy guys.

That being said I have no objections as long as we see a good amount of entries.

To spice things up I was thinking about a static hold pull up at the top (elbows 90 degrees) with a 45lb plate added.

Could be done without the plate added but we'd get a lot of lengthier videos

It's simple to judge, super easy to attempt, and shouldn't favor the big guys unfairly.
