honestly this is what rustles me the most. Bullies will always exist, but after tragedies like this there is an "out pouring" of support from supposed friends, school ect. Where the fuk were you people when this girl was alive and suffering?

I've really tried to adapt a better outlook on life recently. I am trying to be much more positive to people. You never know, that one kind thing you say/do for a stranger could be something that completely changes their day around.

No this girl is pretty f'd up for doing this. You can say what you want, but

She did this IN FRONT OF HER FAMILY, WHILE THEY ALL BEGGED HER NOT TOO. Imagine the actual scar that left on a parent to watch their pride and joy take their life with blood splattered RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM. I have zero sympathy for this girl, I just feel so sorry and bad for her parents and family. That is by far one of the hardest things in this life to watch.

Now moving on to suicide in general, it's mixed feelings. I lean more towards it's selfish. You seriously have to think the scar it leaves on your family and them constantly thinking, "What if I could've helped, how did I not see this sooner" etc. etc. In most cases I see, it's teens getting Cyber-bullied. When the simple option is to just turn off the social media and you won't deal with them. I understand the effects bullying can have on people, but taking your life should not be an option. That pain can go and fade away, killing yourself that pain will never fade from your love ones who actually cared about you.

Just imo on it

You make very good and rational points.

I think the underlying issue is that suicideisn'trational, so to use logic to argue against it is fruitless. I'm one of the most logical/rational people I know tbh, and still.

It's sorta like being an alcoholic. You know the bottle will kill you. You know you shouldn't drink at 9 a.m. You know that you have a problem. And yet you still find yourself at the store on a tuesday morning buying another handle.

No matter how much libs push for the whole "all bodies are beautiful", one of the worst thing parents can do for their kids is allow them to become overweight. Unless you've got some iron-strength confidence, you're going to have a hard time all the way until college. Seriously, the little jokes and teasing just leads to more and more until kids become social rejects without friends and then they get picked on for being fat and weird.

IMO it's not a singular cause. It's a combination of some mental defect that when combined with another source of a reduction of self-worth causes it. If it wasn't bullying, it could have been something

Yeah, I'm not sure if people like this realize that they're probably going to shift the pain from themselves to their loved ones. I couldn't imagine putting my mum through such pain.

someone here said that she could have just lost the weight. but the problem with bullies is they'll ALWYAS find something to pick on. and also, once your confidence is so damaged you believe you are literally worth nothing, you don't think in terms of improving yourself and that it'll fix anything. you start to think you're "unfixable" and that noone will care and that the world is going to be a better place without you in it.

when you only feel pain for months on end and don't believe itll EVER end, no matter what you do, it just becomes too much to take.
while this story is very sad and im feeling for the parents. Most of the bullying was done online through apps where you can remain anonymous. Sometimes you just gotta take a year off social media and work on yourself, does wonders.

edit: was bullied throughout early school, sh*t was horrendous. Legit went from suicidal thoughts, to plans on how to murder my bully (mother****er only stopped when I was big enough to start a fight with him, he didnt want to fight). Then I later helped defend kids who'd been bullied. I've never understoodwhy they do it.
I was a bully when i was a kid.. like in the lagere school, (dunno how its called in english other schooling system in belgium) age 6-12.. Did some pretty bad stuff.. I think i did it because i could and i knew how to break people mentally even at such a young age.. And to be very honest it made me feel in control and the "leader" or what we would call now alpha..

I feel pretty bad bout the stuff i did when i was a kid..
it stopped during highschool age 12-18 here in belgium, because i was slowly maturing and i saw the damage other kids were getting from bein' bullied by others.. Its really strange but when i was a little kid i couldn't see the damage as what it really is, like they start crying but i had no empathy whatsoever that changed when i aged and i really started feelin' sympathy..

tbh i think every now and then bout the stuff i did when i was a kid.. i feel ashamed that i once was such a person

edit: the neggs are deserved on this one i guess..

people make mistakes. sometimes the ramifications of their actions are more severe than others. i guess there are so many complexities and perhaps she was already such a fragile person could have killed herself over something else like her boyfriend cheating on her or something. pretty sure if one of the kids you bullied topped themselves you would feel horrible. no negs for you because there is no point judging someone on their distant past, who you were then does not define who you are now.

I hate hearing stories like this. I've lost people I know to suicide and I know what it does to their families and the people around them. I've also sat up all night and sat all day with someone who was contemplating suicide and cutting themselves. cant explain how I felt sitting there with her that night and day. I always try and tell people to be positive and things will get better and I know its hard to believe that stuff when your mind is dark and set on doing something to yourself. I wish all those people who said they cared she was gone showed it before it was too late

Well as a guy who has both been bullied and have been a bully I found this thread a bit interesting. Some of the people in this thread seem to believe that every bully is a horrible person etc. Maybe the person doesn't even realize what he is doing is wrong?

I was always the kind of loudmouth kid when I was really young, running around, shouting and fighting with other boys. In primary school I used to bully some fat girls for being fat and stupid. In the same time frame I was bullied by a group of 3 kids who used to bully me cos of other bs. Usually ended up with me beating the chit out of 2 of em while the strongest of em put up a even fight.

Mind you this was all with people in the same class as me. Not like it was on a daily basis, but just something that happened from time to time.

In 6th grade me and a group used to bully another guy in a class. Now I never physically bullied anyone, but this part I'm ashamed of actually. The guy moved like 40 minutes away after 6th grade, and while his parents where from that area I still think that the bulling was a factor in him moving. Even this guy seemed to have gotten along fine, and I went to the same high school as him. Don't think it bothers him today.

Never really did anything I would call bullying after that. The people I gave chit to after this point all did mean things back to me although one guy cried "bully" although 1 month before he was just as bad.. lmao whatever

I became really socially awkward during jr high for some reason. 8th grade i was basically a loner. 6'3 155 lbs. Introverted. Dead scared of girls. A group lead by a girl 2 years older than me bullied me, called me ****, spread fake rumors. At school, on social media, and this lasted quite a few months. My mother broke in and spoke with the school, school spoke with the gang leaders parents who only defended her daughter saying "what happens on social media has nothing to do with school".. lmfao strong parenting.

Little sister of this "gang leader" I speak of and another girl also thought it was fun to see how a guy dead scared of girls react. During recess this girls would have a hobby just to follow after me. Start grabbing on my ass, chest, held my hand and told me they would be my girlfriend then laugh their asses of when i said "yes" with an awkward smile. Now I was sweating from my palms like I'm about to die while this happened. An older friend of them once even took her shoe of and started stroking my balls in the cafeteria just so they could laugh at me

Since this nobody has ****ed with me. Cos I don't allow people to **** with me. Any person tries to belittle me or fk me over, I make sure they **** off before they plant the idea in their head i am a pushover (like i've done in the past). Now i am 6'5 and 230 lbs so to a non-lifting average person i look intimidating.
Last time I did this was less than 2 months ago when i confronted a ******* i didnt even know trying to belittle me infront of a group. Now I both take and give banter but this guy was just a ******* with a man bun, trust me.

Bullying really only affects you if it's a group IMO. What does it matter if one person is an idiot? 5+ people bothering you on a daily basis now that is a different story. This was what happened to me during 8th grade.

Aight here's the point. NOTHING of this bothers me today, and I can not say that I am mentally strong at all. Maybe in some aspects. However, the guys who bullied me in 3rd grade I would all consider my friends. One of those bullies also bullied me in 8th grade when bullying really affected me. Now I don't really have any close friends but still. All the people I've bullied I am to an extent "cool" with. I don't interact with most of them anymore, but I've gone to school with them after my bullying. It's fine. The "gang leader" I described above is actually the only person I strongly dislike of all the people mentioned above.

cliffs:
- within a certain age people should realize bullying is wrong, parenting should def. be a factor
- been both a bully and bullied
- ashamed of one guy i bullied
- to an extent GLAD i was bullied, taught me a lot about people
- never allowed people to fk me over since
- am actually friends with people who bullied me in the past

I never realized how absolutely shiiity kids are to each other. They are ruthless, say and do things without even knowing what they are doing (the young ones). I also live in a country with the 3rd highest suicide rate in the world. One day there were a ton of middle schoolers crying, one of their classmates had jumped off a roof and killed himself. Fuk man. So sad when shiet like this happens. I just don't know how people can continuously be total kunts to people.
Why did she kill herself in front of her family though? Something suggests there is a little more to this?
Shooting herself in that manner was definitely used as a mechanism for attention.

Women are horrible kunts to eachother though. srs. I bet the people who bullied her have convinced themselves by now that they did nothing wrong, and will carry on their lives as normal being total pieces of chit.

Ive been over giving a crap about teens that kill themselves over cyber bullying.

1. Parents should have taught them to just put the damn phone down. Hey look no more bullying!
2. Parents should have taught them to not care when people say stupid crap. He called you a slut? Well hes a dick, get over it!
3. If youre so weak minded that youre willing to kill yourself to stop people saying dumb crap about you...well good riddance. There are enough adult babies as it is.

Parents will complain "we need laws against this!" Yeah, well did you actually do anything about it? I doubt it.

Charge the parents with neglect and watch how fast people start teaching their kids to get over it.

I'm sorry, but she's 18 - an adult. This isn't some dumb kid who had a brain explosion. This is a lady who selfishly took her life, and now her family has to live with it. I feel so sorry for them...

Reading stories like this is sad but it gives me some perspective. I've considered suicide more than a few times. I was bullied in 5th grade. Used to get beat up by the fuking ******* every day. I'm surprised I didn't kill myself in my adolescent years to be completely honest. The fact that I've lived this long is amazing. Every time I think about killing myself I feel really really bad and like a worthless piece of chit when I think about what I'm doing to my family so I don't do it. The "friends and family" that are coming out in support now piss me the fukk off. Where the fukk were they when she needed them most? Being overweight is probably something she can fix but the people bullying her are pieces of chit. Girls who bully are fukking scum of the earth.
