In your guys opinions which Creed cologne is best worn during the day ideally everyday at work? I'm thinking Green Irish Tweed, or is it too strong/nighttime?

Green Irish Tweed is ideal for all day wear. Aventus also qualifies, but i think i would pick GIT for work and Aventus for play.

GIT is a nice choice for all around wear, like Papillo said Aventus is OK too but to me its too HNNGH to be an office scent, its kind of like overdressing? Better for a night out IMO. Original Vetiver/Santal are pretty safe for office use as well, I think Himalaya might be OK too.

its really good!

the greeness in GIT is what makes it unwearable to me...even in the drydown i cant take the green note...this one doesnt have it (or have tamed it waaaay back)

its a creamy fresh floral that has good peformance (8hrs)

my only knock would be the ambergris isnt authentic and has a slight synthetic feel to it compared to the real thing....but its a really nice synthetic ambergris.


i agree with papillo saying its 90+% to gits drydown, the amberis note being the main difference...definetly worth looking into if GIT doesnt work on you.

Hey guys, saw the thread and thought why not ask you for some advice. Since I've run out of perfume I was looking into buying a new one. I've been using Burberry London in the cold season and Diesel Only the Brave (gift of my mom) in the summer.

I was trying out quite a few perfumes and the one that stuck with me most was Pegasus by Parfums de Marly. Had a great smell and especially longevity which might explain the price. Unfortunately my girlfriend doesn't like sweeter perfums, so I'm looking for one that I could use on the nights that I see her. She told me that she tried out a few perfums while she was waiting for one of her flights and Mr. Burberry by Burberry stuck out to her. Now I get why she wouldn't like the type of perfums that I wear since they have a totally different smell. Mr. Burberry only lasted like 4 hours though, which is why I won't spend money on that perfume. Do you have any ideas if there is a perfume going in the same direction scent wise that would be an option for me?

^^from what i remember it opens like the drydown of the original with more vanilla..soft (not weak) smelling frag...just missing something for me to pay that extra $$ for...still smells great tho

Aventus has a way of polarizing people on first encounter to either love it or hate it, however a lot of people who started out hating it end up loving it whereas the people who loved it at first never end up hating it. I was part of the crew that absolutely hated it and really like it now.

Regarding Arsenal's list I have 3/5 of those and La Nuit would be a damn good start if you like sweet but not overpowering fragrances.

I sold my bottle a few months ago. Extremely boozy vanilla is just not my thing..... a big reason why I don't own SDV. Cuir Beluga is my vanilla fix. WTBS It's actually a very nice frag and a solid sub for SDV. It's intensely boozy at the start and the vanilla comes through and stays till the end. If you can get it cheap it's a solid buy.

will do, thanks. I tried out la nuit already and both me and my girlfriend really liked it. Only problem is that it didn't last very long. Might be better with an EdP tough.

I was honestly going in there thinking I was gonna try the most magical scent in the world after reading the reviews on it on the misc for 2 years. What I smelled was extremely disappointing. After that I was really convinced that it was a troll job all along.

Maybe it's because I go full-on firing squad with my fragrances but I wore it one day this week and it lasted all day, and my skin soaks up edt's and edp's like water on a hot sidewalk in July.
I was honestly going in there thinking I was gonna try the most magical scent in the world after reading the reviews on it on the misc for 2 years. What I smelled was extremely disappointing. After that I was really convinced that it was a troll job all along.
I felt the same way at first but toward the end of the samples that I bought (got two from two different places to compare because everyone talked about fakes) I was considering buying a bottle. I mean, it's not my top 5 but if I ever catch a good deal on a bottle I'd pick it up.

I concur. I keep revisiting my decant (from a reputable source) to see what the fuss is all about, and keep scrubbing it off. Makes me feel dirty, like I need a shower, lol

you may need to look for a bottle made pre 2014...pre 2012 if youre lucky


the EDP may not help....its a totally different scent than the edt :/

I've been looking more and more into colognes lately and i've noticed some things..

So many ''highly'' recommended perfumes i didnt ****ing like.. lol

D&G The One was meh... Cool Water smells fkn weird.. ***** Guilty is apparently so highly praised but I think nothing special at all imo.. just smells.. average..
Only ones right now that I have and really like are aqua di gio (we in 2002 again misc) D&G light blue and burberry brit (HNNNGGGGGGGG)

Does anyone here who knows burberry brit (not rhythym, just brit) know any colognes similar to it? Would love to know

As you try more and more things you'll start to notice some patterns in what you like and you'll no longer have to automatically try or expect to like all hyped up things. To begin though, trying a wide variety of things may be a good shortcut to finding the type of scents that you like.

Thanks Arsenal and Dizzy for your reviews. I just got both of them.

I really do think the Tres Nuit is good. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative to GIT- do try this one. It is easier to get than vintage Cool Water.

I'm too used to the quality of SDV to like the Perry Ellis Oud. It definitely takes inspiration Fromm SDV. I agree with Dizzy, the drydown is good but the opening is a bit harsh.



Anyone want them? $40CAD for the Oud and $20CAD for the Tres? $50CAD for both if you can pickup in Toronto. Will post on the Canadian FB group later tonight.
