Is that what I said? Suffice it to say that having been down both routes I prefer lean, mean and strong than the hulking oaf look. Never forget, I can do anything your can do...better!

Total brute strength may go to the bigger guy, but for overalluseful athletic ability, remains a product of the mid-range. See above VS video.

Yep, you said that you could left more weight but were unsure how that is transferable to anything.

A "mean" skinny twink is like an aggressive chihuahua, all bark and no bite.

Except bulk and lift heavy, it would seem.

But you can actually measure total strength, and strength is useful. "Athletic" is a vague enough term that weak dudes can apply it to any factor they might actually possess and lean on it like a crutch so they don't have to feel as impotent as they are.

Then why does the armed force not just recruit and corn feed only big dudes?

Then why does the armed force not just recruit and corn feed only big dudes?
I can't say I disagree with you on your other points, and while it is true the military as a whole doesn't specifically look for large burly guys, a majority of individuals in elite units such as SEALS, Rangers, MARSOC, Delta are taller, large men. Not just slim and athletically built. So it could be argued that if the military's best are usually 'burly' men, then that is what is ideal in that field (specifically combat, of course)?

Because they are a volunteer force. They take who they get (that meet the fitness standards).

You are really stuck on the idea that people in the military are the most atletic in the world, aren't you? LOL

[IMG]http://i68.tinypic.com/2rml05v.jpg[IMG]
Not just meet them, but maintain them in the most elite fighting forces. Haven't you noticed that the most deadliest are generally not the biggest nor the strongest.

Most of the old dudes I talk to in the gym go the other way. They keep getting bonier and weaker as the years strip away whatever lean tissue they may have once had. Thicker old dudes at least keep some old man strength.

I have not noticed this. Anybody is dangerous with a gun. Hand to hand, the biggest dude is not the one you want to dance with.

Years of experience bouncing and working security confirm this.

Equipment helps.

Though I'm confused by your use of the word. Accidents are survivable, people aren't.

Das it, mane. Enjoy that feeling!

I know I haven't been at this very long, but it kills me that I can beat your bench and come nowhere close to your deadlift. Why does my deadlift insist on sucking so badly?

Could just be leverages mayne if you've been working at it consistently, wouldn't say it's cause you're tall cause I know plenty of tall deadlifters.

I've heard dudes use the "too tall to deadlift" excuse.

Eddie Hall is 6'3", so there goes that. LOL

Just gotta keep grinding, I guess.
