I tried the "mail order bride" thing. The ladies were just looking to use me.

I've been searching for a foreign lady for 7 months (There are enough, I can be picky).

Don't be discouraged, I found 2 or 3 good ones too out of many hundreds, just not my type so I chose not to follow though.

....... This one be careful. They ladies will marry you, stay married to you and suck your life savings dry through wire transfers (at best she will work to have money to send home). Discuss what you will or won't do in helping out her poor family if that is the case. She is marrying for money or job access to send money home.

#6 The ladies who just can't meet guys where they live because they are crazy.
....... Haha we have them here too. Avoid.

#7 The ladies who don't want to work.
....... Marry a man and he will support me. Hmm They are a form of gold digger but it's not money they are after, just someone to take care of them. They can make a good wife if you don't mind supporting them. If you ask them to work they might leave you.

#8 The ladies who believe Westerns make great husbands.
....... Grass greener on the other side theory. They are more hopeful.

#9 The ladies who want to live in your country and can only get in through marriage. This is your second best option. They are willing to give you a chance to see if you are a good partner. These ladies would not date you if you did not live in your country.

#10 Ladies not looking to meet you.
....... YOU FIND THEM. This is where many men have found great wives. In this case you have to speak the language and search them out where they are looking to meet guys in their country. Then you are finding ladies from a group not looking to scam foreigners.

Can you meet a foreign bride? Absolutely! But it won't be easier, in fact I think it is harder. You will meet many more ladies you are not compatible with. It's a numbers game, you will need to meet a huge number of foreign ladies. There are huge numbers luckily to meet. They are all compatible with visas and green cards, so they will only show you their best sides. Get to know them well.

Just take your time and really get to know the ladies you are talking to deeply. First deception they give you, toss them aside and look for another.

OP you don't have to just look in countries that require fianc visas for the ladies to come to Canada, you can also look at countries where the ladies can get tourist visas to visit you in Canada!!!!!! You don't have to marry right away. All of the UK? Lots of countries have semi open border agreements with Canada and USA. So if you meet a lady from other countries with treaties they can come live with you and not get married right away. Time to get to know each other before she can take half of everything you own legally in divorce.

I will say, I meet lots of nice foreign ladies but it's a problem not speaking their languages. I am sure if you look in other countries you will meet many ladies willing to accept your interests in them. One thing I found is that the "type of lady" I want to meet (HOME OR FOREIGN) is not going out to meet guys. So I can't meet her at a pub, a bar, a club. And if I meet her at the mall or food store she is all defensive that another guy is approaching her. The way to meet those ladies is through lady friends. And well most ladies have single unattractive friends but there can sometimes be one you want to meet. If you are introduced by her girlfriend or family member the lady friends will talk to you. That's how you meet nice ladies. But if you can't find a lady in all of Canada, all of USA, then why not look overseas. It is harder because overseas they want something you have. In Canada and USA they don't need what you have so if they are interested in you, much more likely it is because of you, who you are.

Pre-nup is a smart idea if there are no kids involved. Buy the house in your name before you get married to a foreign lady. What do I think my odds are finding my great lady over seas? 400%. lol. Yes quantity prevails.

As for those "Mail Order Bride" relationships where you literally meet in your home country married. I hear the divorce rate is about 50%. Best to live with her first in her country, get to know her 24/7. MY BEST ADVICE to meet foreign women. Become an "EXPAT" and take an extended vacation in the country you want to meet a lady in. Meet the ladies in person not online. I'm planning to stay in another country dating ladies / living with her (when I find her) for at least 5 months. I plan on coming home with a fianc. Where? I'm not sure yet. So many options. I have to learn another language first. If you speak another language your ODDS of finding a GREAT lady go UP, less competition from others who can't speak the language. Either she has to speak English or you have to speak her language. And to remind you. If you want an equal in a partner, a wife who will work and have a career and education she will adapt to her surroundings easily. That nice innocent lady will become westernized. Expect them to change after marriage. Unless you are a traditional husband that will support your wife and allow her to be a housewife finding her from some farm in the middle of no where with out an education, she will become Canadian just like the other ladies.

As luck has it, you can date foreign ladies in Canada. In fact Canada has LOTS of Foreign ladies working in hospitals and nursing homes, ect., on work visas who would love to meet and marry a Canadian guy. I think honestly you're not networking to your potential. Meet through people. You don't have enough lady friends. Change that. Start with 30 lady friends and 4 of the 30 that you talk with regularly. Then ask them to help you meet a lady. You need to be introduced. You need to meet ladies with their guard down.
