2) Rich guy who can afford to pay most if not all in cash.
3) Buncha rich-ish guys who go in part ways and set up a time share set up.

All of these examples with the added bonus of leasing them out to people equals not a bad investment.

You think rappers own all the cars, boats, planes in the video? Fuk naw, they rent it from aforementioned people in my examples. A big ass yacht to rent for a music video and to get it to its destination would be upwards of 200k.....thats just for a day or 2.
There was a yacht person I met who was sharing the cost with 3-5 other people, like a time share. Which I got to ride on his $3M yacht, not as insane as these ones here, but it felt like the size of a nice apartment. But it was still pretty big though, and the guy let the girl drive it! Thing has tons of power!

Yeah - it'd be interesting to hang around someone who was that successful and see their day to day workings.

I'm pretty sure they'd have staff for everything.

The one thing I have a problem with is needing to have a captain to take your boat out. It would be nice to just relax at the dock though. Reminds me of wolf on wall street lol

What I wonder is how much being attacked by pirates is a legit concern for some of them?

I saw a show a while back on mega yachts and they said some have basically small armies (IDK proper term) as staff as well.
The billionaire and the beggar both have 24 hours in a day.

LMAO, aware.

These ridiculously huge yachts seem boring to me. You'll barely notice you're on the water, basically like being in a huge building. Sailing a small(er) boat is probably much more fun.

There's about 500 billionaires in the world. Yachts / jets are nothing but toys to them as to a millionaire with a car collection of 100-300k

Or to a 6 figure collection of Rolex watches worth 10-20k.

Or to a thousandaires collection of Jordan shoes ranging from 200-300 dollars.

Yep this is accurate.

Few mates of mine are/were engineers on super yachts. Can confirm xbox/ps all day in control room and blasting tunes in the engine room on shift if there was anything to do. Seems like 90% of time all they done was water load. Easy money.

Friend of mine worked on a yacht owned by an arab prince. Flew a hooker all the way from Miami to south of France, first class. Then sent her back as she wasn't up to standards.

also 5k watch as gifts for crew not uncommon.

I worked on cruiseships then went offshore. Thinking about going to yachts for the easy engineer life.

Which ones? You can get a learjet for 20-30 million. A Wider 150 is also 28 million, but yachts go up to 800 million.

My dad actually had a smaller yacht that he ran when I was a kid, it was a regular sized boat (not a super sized super luxurious one lol), but had rooms, toilets etc and during off season the family would use it to travel and it was so cool. Unfortunately he sold the business and the yacht lol.
You really would?

I don't get people like that/like you. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I have no "materialistic" side to me, I'd LOVE a super nice car like a slightly used Lamborghini one day or something, and a house that has some spare room, but I can't wrap my head around buying something like one of these yachts for a million, or much more.

Like.. really? Why? You're not going to attract quality women with it, you look like an ******* to a lot of people, idk... I'd seriously rather give away $1m to other people for things they want but could never have. Even if that's self serving, it would be so much more satisfying than knowing you wasted all that money on a boat where you can still only be in one room at a time.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this as I didn't read the whole thread.

But there are no laws in international waters. No age of consent, no controlled substances, nothing of the sort.

What happens in international waters, stays in international waters. Therefore anything goes.

Superyachts are just giant no-holes-barred orgy boats for the insanely rich.
