some guys wanted the chance to let him know why it was insensitive and not the best thing to open your stay to a mostly black audience. so it sounds like he wasn't being a racist *******, he just was obviously clueless.

I don't know either way, but had he met these people before and aware of the fact it was almost all black dudes? Also, if you are really into fruit and a bigass watermelon was the easiest thing to bring is he supposed to NOT bring it specifically because there are black people there?
