Spain tried to integrate the native populations into their colonies.... but it didn't work. It created resentment and racism among the colonists.

The biggest oppression in Africa comes from within. Always has. Even if a 1st world country dropped down all the technology, money, schools and food Africa could ever want they still wouldn't thrive.

So to blame it on the Europeans that came well over *100* years ago is quite a stretch, considering theres absolutely no proof whatsoever that Africa was on the ups and colonialism destroyed that. And with the absence of Europeans Africa continues to struggle. In fact in some regions they banned white people all together, kicked out white farmers, then less than a year later they were begging to have them back.

European interference in Africa didn't start and stop with the slave trade. There was resources being taken away from the regions, bribery, civil wars created due to greed which was conspired by Euros, genocide (i.e. Belgium's King Leopold), and not to mention destruction of history, monuments, and stealing culture (i.e. look at parallels of Egyptian Religions and Greek/Roman Religions).
I would absolutely ****ing love to see Africa. For sure on my bucket list, that and Australia.
