It is kind of sad that someone would save a dog over a human being. Even if it is a stranger that stranger could be someone who someone loves deeply, or who has children to take care of, or has a family of loved ones who deeply care about them. Now imagine this scenario. The women you love is drowning, or your son or daughter is drowning and a stranger decides to save their dog over the person you love. Would you really say you understand? No you would most likely take this person and beat them to death for actually having the emotional intelligence of a 4 year old child and saving a dog over a human being whose sphere of influence far outreaches and out weights the sphere of influence of a single dog. Most likely in the process causing a chain reaction of far reaching misery and depression that effects hundreds of people. Its pretty simple. Do unto others as you would want done unto yourself.

Thats all it boils down to. How would you feel about a person who chose their pet over the life of your loved one? Would youreallybe understanding of their choice?

The suffering caused by loss of human life and the loss of a pet cannot be compared. Almost everyone I know has lost a pet, and while they keep a place in your heart forever, it does not compare to the loss of a parent, or god forbid a child.
