If the NFL was popular here, there would be a professional league in the UK.
I enjoy watching the NRL, but 99 percent of people in the UK couln't give a chit about it... reflected in the viewing figures for free one off games on TV, which peak at 350k people.

Each athlete does a sport which is popular in their culture.
Outside of the US it is also not culturally common to make a career decision to even play a sport, let alone maximize your financial gain based on sport suited to you. You just play the game you liked as a kid and rise up the ranks. Only in America do you capitalize on body type and skill set to choose a sport which helps you make money or get an education.

As someone that has and still plays rugby (for around 12 years)andfootball , I can say I absolutely ****ing love football so much more.
The standard here is laughably pathetic in comparison to the states; but assuming you're well built and have rugby experience, football feels like a completely different sport. The fact your used to tackling without pads, and suddenly being padded up just adds to the fun.
I will add tho, most people who play football in the UK either have the right height but fail to fill out properly, or are short but fat as **** and can't play rugby, so they try this sport instead. Playing fullback here is a breeze.

You could drop the greatest athlete in the world to any top level professional sport and he would be made to look foolish.
