the visuals were really phukking cool. everything else was meh about it though unfortunately.

I'm shocked to hear this movie was a flop. Did'nt know it cost so much to make. I def liked it tho. But yea, I watched it a couple years after it came out on dvd.

Was actually fine. I mean, wouldn't want to see it again, but didn't have me scratching my eyeballs out. No idea why it got dumped on so much.
Because it was released at the same time as Jurassic Park - which quickly became the highest grossing film in history + highly regarded by critics.
Last Action Hero would have done a lot better if it weren't for the timing of the release.

Dont know if it was intentional but some feminist hypocrisy was displayed in the film when Marion scoffed at being called 'girl' but changes her attitude when she turns around and sees who made the remark (good looking alpha male).

The Ghost And The Darkness with Val Kilmer and Michael Douglass was shot down hard by critics and is pretty unheard of today. I thought it was a great movie.
