It gave me the impression that the girl was leading him on for a few months, saying **** like "all right we can be together we will see where this goes", went out for months on casual dates, probably a kiss here and there, one drunken sloppy sex night if the guy was lucky, etc. Pretty much the girl kept him around as long as needed for Chad to came.

But obviously the guy didnt know her true intentions, he thought he was working hard for her heart or some bull****, he was winning her over. In his mind, they were trying to be together, if not already together and seeing where it would take them.

No, that was his wittiness acting fast, he was trying to save face and parry the fatality that she had just thrown to him. He came close to being succesful at it with that witty joke, but she just keep throwing bombs at him, you can see when he gives up and his face completely changes to that permantently "broken heart and cringing on the inside" look.

I really really hope that was staged, because that was brutal to watch.
