Pretty much this car:https://www.motorauthority.com/news/...abt-sportsline

I already own a home I'm renting out. It's about time and I'll be using it to drive all over Europe, so might as well enjoy it. I might consider the S6 or S8 with the same base engine (found one MTM tuned to 500hp). The S8 is nicer inside. We'll see.
What kinda job are you doing in that german region to earn that??

Out of curiosity where do you spend your money? I only ask because miscers are talking like if they made 100K per year they'd drive 10K vehicles. And I'm assuming both of your vehicles are paid for. Assuming you pay 30K per year in taxes and your living expenses are around 30K per year. Where does that extra 40K per year go?

If I made 100K per year and if I wanted to, I could easily buy a 100K vehicle and pay it off within about 3 years (If I put 5% down). Without even living under any kind of a budget or limiting my spending in other areas. Not saying I would because I don't currently want anything that expensive...

It is a tarp... As your earnings increase so do your other things. I could give you a break down, but typically as your earnings increase so do your expenses. 100k usually comes with a higher cost of living and once you add kids into the picture things get tighter than you would like, but if you think you could afford 33k+interest per year on a car payment while you are making 100k you would be living in a run down apartment or neglecting other areas of your life.

Cars are expensive and poor investments... once the new car novelty wears of you get the same enjoyment out of it. Getting a 2 year old reliable car and spending the money on other items nets a much better utility.

make 140k from my job, about same again from passive income. Own my own place (apartment - moderately sized 2 bedroom in a nice part of town). This be frugal, save, invest for the future thing many people in this thread talk about, I lived it the last 15 or so years.

But at some point you just want to have some nice things, so tomorrow I probably will decide if swap my

for one of these

Cars don’t have to depreciate. Bought a Datsun s30 2-seater for 3k, could easily get 20 for it today.

I make about $200k/year. I still drive a 2009 sedan I purchased used for just under $6,000 a few years ago. I suggest you do the same, OP. Buy a safe, cheap, used car and quit fronting. Invest that money instead of dumping it into a depreciating asset.

The year is not important, the goal is to buy a car you can be satisfied with for as cheap as you can. Invest the rest.

Do your research.

Most of my portfolio is in index funds, but I also have riskier investments (individual stocks, early start-up funds, crypto).

I am assuming you are still young and have plenty of time to recover your base if investing in risky ventures goes sour.

Since I already live a completely debt free life and have a 2.5 year old crosstrek paid off I would purchase a truck.

Ford Raptor would be my choice.

Why are so many people suggesting Toyotas? That's absolutely bottom of the barrel cheap and boring.

Why not suggest a used sports sedan that's 2/3s msrp and still just as reliable as new?
