The musician probably does that for a living/promoting themselves. The musician in you example is not the average joe who just bought a les paul and wants to gloat on instagram.
What you wrote is very different to the issue at hand and it proves that your lines are blurred. A forum can exist for guitar enthusiasts to post **** and talk, but why should these guitar enthusiasts see pics of children and shoes etc etc when theyve never even met lol

No, it's an example of how social media can be beneficial and positive.

If people want to, they don't have to see pictures of children and shoes, you choose who you follow and what you see (another point I made that's gone over your head)

If you like social media and benefit from its platforms, then use it, if you don't like it, then don't use it. I only use social media just because it's apart of our culture now and pretty much everyone I know is on it, but I don't take it seriously at all unless I get to the point where I'm trying to market myself, but I doubt that'll ever happen.

Hey, I do that, too! If you want people to care about your actual skill and talent, you need to adopt a few mindsets for success.

2. Do whacky covers of songs everyone has heard 1,000,000 times. I saw a video of two jackasses playing "Sweet Child of Mine" on guitars that were laying on their backs. Oh wow, they're playing guitars the wrong way! How amazing!
3. Do boring covers of songs everyone has heard 1,000,000 times. Just play "Sweet Child of Mine" normal. It'll still get more recognition than full 1 1/2 hour performances of original / improvised music.
4. Get breast implants. Any attractive woman with the ability to hit a chord is gonna get tons of views / hits / feedback. Doesn't matter if they're terrible, just so long as they provide a nice fantasy to imagine pumping your load into. "She plays guitar? Would creampie / 10."
5. Start mumbling with a speech impediment in triplets and act smug about your incompetence. Autistic internet hipsters will love it, and defend you vehemently like they're your hype man.
