Scent of the Evening: Memo - Luxor Oud

Drinking some wine while I try out a new protein pancakes recipe. Decided to dip into that monster Memo haul i got from the smoker bish. Luxor "Oud" is a nice frag. It's one of those oud you have to put in quotes because it doesn't smell anything like oud oil BUT the concoction is really enjoyable.

(Mandarin, red berries, rose, cypriol heart, rockrose absolute, patchouli, styrax resin, tonka bean, oud.)

You can definitely wear it at night and to the bar. It's not exactly a lightest fragrance.

My DHI is like from 2014/15 and smells pretty fukking amazing tbh. It is Beastly strong but needs to settle on skin for the cacao to really start developing and coming to the top. My only problem is most of the time I go bars I dress pretty urban (unless it's a fancy place) and DHI doesn't quite seem to fit that role. For me where it shines is a formal date type setting.

Anyways I know Dior homme Parfum is well loved in fragcom but I don't like it at all. Too grown up and maybe it's the strong ass leather that throws me off. DHI is much smoother and buttery.

We get taxed really fuking heavy on cars so a basic poverty c class for example costs more than a C63 AMG in the USA. A C63 costs about 200k US here.

Saw this posted in the frag groups and the guy's description made me go buy a sample off ebay immediately. I've been meaning to get a more digestible crowd pleaser while trying not to spend a fortune on a BoadiceaV or Roja frag (saving for Bahrain in the spring time). This might be just what i need.

There's only three Mancera's that I've gotten my nose on and they were actually pretty damn good - Red Tobacco and Aoud Vanille. Of course, Cedrat Boise is near identical to Aventus. I just wish they offered smaller bottles than 120ml ($180).

It doesn't matter much if you try before you buy. For example, Aoud Vanille is way better than Tobacco Vanille and is cheaper, it's less cloying. However i can totally see where blind buying some of their more exotic aoud variants blind could bite someone in the ass.

There's this solution a couple year back floating around the interweb made specifically to boost your fragrance. So, I purchased a bottle of it and I noticed no difference that I noticed.

Freaking hate that ****. Whatever note they added (i think leather) just didnt work for me when i tried it years ago. The entire DH line just isn't for me, but this was the worst of them all.

Yeah i feel you. I feel like my fragrances aren't lasting as long as they used to. But I think my dehydration everyday, and diet have alot to do with it. Trying to improve

Its also possible that your nose has just gotten used to the smell. Try to rotate them a bit if you arent doing so already, take a few days break from each one and you will smell them more the next time you wear them. Also consider spraying your clothes

Looks like Tom Ford has made Amber Absolute available again, along with 8 other "Reserve Blend" fragrances. Amber Absolute is something i've been wanting to get my nose on for quite some time. Anybody on here have experience with Amber Absolute? What about Italian Cypress?

Once it's deemed a "luxury" vehicle they hit you with a luxury tax that gets enormous based on the size of the engine and price of the vehicle. It's insanity, yet people still have Ferraris, lambos, 911s, I've seen a GT3 RS, Range Rovers are huge status symbols here. Not to mention all the Nissan GTRs, M3/4's etc. People just LOVE their cars here.

I have a sample of Herod, Elysium and most importantly BR540 extrait coming in a couple weeks. Can't wait to test out and give you boyos a review.
